Friday Favorites: Kid Friendly Easter Brunch & Our Favorite Easter Plates

March 1, 2013

I was hosting Christmas brunch & asked my good friend Allison for some recipes. She hosted a great brunch a few months earlier & I was still thinking about her delicious recipes. One recipe she shared with me was for an overnight french toast. It was really easy to make & everyone loved it, including my kids. I’ve made it a few times since & it’s always a hit with the kids.

Overnight French Toast:

Makes enough for 6.

Ingredients:

1/2 stick of butter

Sliced french bread. About 1/2 loaf.

6 eggs

1  cups milk

1/4 cup sugar

2 tablespoons maple syrup

1 teaspoon vanilla

Optional: Powdered sugar

Slice butter & cover the bottom of the baking dish. Place the slices of bread on top of the butter, covering the whole baking dish. In a separate bowl, beat eggs, milk, sugar, syrup, vanilla. Pour the mixture over the bread. Turn bread slices over to make sure both sides of the bread are coated. Cover and refrigerate overnight.

In the morning:

Set oven to 400°F. Bake for 10 minutes & then turn slices over & bake about 5-10 minutes longer.

Sprinkle with powdered sugar & serve with maple syrup!

We’ll be serving brunch on these adorable personalized plates! These plates are from Sugar Blossom Lane. This Etsy shop is a great place to visit for personalized gifts & holiday decor. In addition to Easter plates, Sugar Blossom Lane has fun Easter place mats for kids too!
