Friday Favorites: Kitchens

June 8, 2012

I love browsing Pinterest for all sorts of ideas, but my absolute favorite thing on there: kitchens. When we bought our house we loved everything about it…..but the kitchen. We have big plans for the kitchen but it involves removing walls, a new ceiling & many more “not so easy or cheap” plans. I hate to complain because I am blessed to have a functioning kitchen to cook for my family. BUT design wise my kitchen is all the colors & patterns from the early 90’s you DON’T miss. I’m talking almost turqouise green countertops & tacky wallpaper people! We hope to do the project about a year from now (maybe!). So while we save up & plan for our dream kitchen I spend endless hours gazing at beautiful pictures on Pinterest.
My 3 favorite “pins” that I would love in my future kitchen:
A Farmhouse Sink
French Door Refridgerator
Yellow & White! (with some white countertops too!)
Speaking of kitchens….this week on Kelly’s Korner it’s all about kitchens. While I am dreaming of a lovely kitchen in my future, Julie’s kitchen is already there! My favorite thing about Julie’s kitchen is that it’s so “open”. The kitchen itself never feels crammed even when lots of little ones are running around waiting for lunch. It also opens up right into the dining room. She is super organized behind all those cabinets too!

I know exactly what you mean! I strongly dislike my current kitchen too. Hopefully this time next year we'll be ready to tackle it. Love your ideas!
