Friday Favorites: Gender Neutral Baby Gift Ideas

May 29, 2020

All 5 times, we waited until the delivery room to find out the gender of our baby. The first time around, it was really hard to wait. I wanted to shop and prepare and had a hard time finding clothes, nursery decor, etc that were gender neutral. Over the years and quite a few more pregnancies, I have found lots of places to shop and prepare for the baby without knowing the gender.

While preparing for a 5th baby, we had a lot of gender neutral swaddles, baby gear, clothes, etc but I still wanted some new things for our new baby. I discovered a few new gender neutral favorites along the way. These would make great baby gifts if you are going to a shower and the person doesn’t know if they’re having a boy or girl. It’s also nice to get a neutral gift for any baby if you think the person will have more children – then they can use your gift longer/ for more babies!

You don’t just have to use these recommendations for gifts for other moms-to-be. They’re fun places to shop while you’re expecting your own little one. If you’re looking for even more ideas, visit this post. Now for today’s Friday Favorites:

Gender Neutral Baby Gift Ideas

Quincy Mae: I’ve shopped Rylee & Cru for my kids for a few years now. I’ve always been happy with the quality and the kids love how comfortable the clothes are. When I was pregnant with Teddy, I found out the brand has a line just for babies called Quincy Mae. There were so many cute, gender neutral options so I got a few things while I was pregnant. In Teddy’s 1st few weeks, the Quincy Mae clothes were some of my favorite newborn clothes and I ended up ordering the same style in bigger sizes and some more styles too. The clothes are all organic cotton and so soft. It’s also fun that there are super soft hats and other accessories that match the clothes, making them great for gifts.

Primary: I get everything from pjs to winter coats for my kids from Primary.com. Last year they expanded their baby line and it’s adorable, soft and affordable. Last year, 3 of our contributors teamed up to write this post: Primary’s New Baby Layette and the 3 of them agreed that it was a perfect line for babies. When I was pregnant with Teddy, I couldn’t wait to try it out. Primary has so many cute colors and patterns with plenty of gender neutral colors.

Pehr: I discovered this brand last summer when my aunt re-did a kids room at the beach with lots of beautiful whale patterned sheets, rug, etc from Pehr. When looking for sheets and some new nursery items for Teddy, I found some great neutral options at Pehr. They also have cute neutral towels and other gifts.

Books: Book are always an easy gender neutral baby gift! Here are a few fun book lists to check out:

Books for Baby // Best Books for a Baby Shower // Books That Make Us Smile

MAM: Sometimes you want to add a cute little gift for a shower like a pacifier or teether and often they are sets of pink ones or blue ones, MAM has the cutest gender neutral sets of pacifiers and great teethers too. I always like to get pacifiers before the baby arrives to sterilize and have always gotten a bunch of neutral ones from MAM. You can find lots on Amazon.

Holidays: I was SO surprised when my cousin and friends threw me a baby shower in February. I haven’t had a shower since my 1st baby over 10 years ago. It was really special and I am so thankful they celebrated me and our little Teddy a few weeks before he arrived. My cousin thought of such a great idea for the shower gifts. She had everyone bring a gift that went along with the holiday closest to their own birthday. So I got gifts for all different holidays. Holiday clothes, bibs, books, etc are gender neutral and something you don’t think to get for yourself. Since Teddy arrived, it’s been so fun to take out the different gifts as each holiday rolls around. So far he has used his St. Patrick’s Day gifts, Easter and Memorial Day.

Pin this gender neutral baby gift post for later!
