Headspace: The Easiest (& Best!) Gift for Families

December 20, 2018

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post on behalf of Headspace. It’s an app my family uses and I am happy to partner with them. As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

If you’re like me, you get the bulk of your shopping done and then last minute realize there are still a few gifts to get… like really last minute…. like definitely no time to order online last minute. Also, if you’re like me it’s the people or families you are not sure what to buy that are left to the last minute. I’m here to help. If you’re looking for the best last minute gift for anyone on your list, consider Headspace. It’s also a great gift to give yourself and your own family.

What’s Headspace?

Headspace is an easy to use app for daily meditation and mindfulness. The company was founded by Andy, previously a Buddhist monk and Rich, a man who sought Andy’s meditating advice to deal with the stresses of his advertising job. Headspace was originally launched as an events company but people were always asking Andy how to take the meditating techniques home with them, so the company became the Headspace you see today: guided meditations, animations, articles and videos, all in the distinct Headspace style. Headspace has one mission: to improve the health and happiness of the world. I HIGHLY recommend reading more about company background and the tons of research behind it on their site: https://www.headspace.com/science

How do I use Headspace?

I was actually quite surprised how various members of my family took to Headspace so quickly. Before Headspace, meditation wasn’t even a word used in our house. I knew I needed some “space” for myself and meditation but didn’t think I had time. Headspace solved that. My husband, who I never thought would start using it, loves it. And my kids: they enjoy it most of all. Headspace kids is so wonderful! I guess I never realized how much my kids needed a little quiet, peace and mindfulness in our busy schedule. They love listening to the mediations at night and the new little videos on the app are a hit too. I will admit, the past couple months we started to forget to use Headspace daily and when I took it back out the kids were so excited and happy.

When I add Headspace into my daily routine I see a difference. When I add it to my whole family’s routine I see an even bigger difference. It helps me be mindful of what’s important.

Why give Headspace as a gift?

For someone that knows about the value of mediation and mindfulness, they will be thrilled to receive months of Headspace as a gift. For those that don’t, it’s so easy to use and so fun to do as a family, that it will be the gift they never knew they NEEDED in their life. What family wouldn’t want a subscription to something that shares 5 min meditations on kindness, less anxiety and helps you sleep? It’s truly the gift that will keep on giving.

Also, our society is finally at a point where we can all agree we have too much “stuff”. This is a gift that comes from the heart, is useful and doesn’t take up any space. If you buy the family subscription it’s gifts for a whole family… still taking up no additional space in their house. Rather it will make space in their hearts and minds for what they really need: more mindfulness.
