Holiday Gift Guide (Part II)

December 2, 2012

Today, we are sharing Courtney’s Holiday Gift Guide!
Can you believe it’s already time to talk holiday shopping? I lived away from home for a while & never liked to have to fly with gifts. I used to enjoy waiting until the last minute & shopping with my mom on Christmas Eve. I’ve realized with kids though, it’s easier to get shopping done really early, so you can sit back & enjoy every minute of the season with the little ones. This year I am feeling very prepared!
So, here is my gift guide for everyone on your list:
This place mat is my new favorite piece of Christmas decor. When it arrived, I sat down with Maggie & told her all about leaving cookies & milk for Santa. It’s the first year she really “gets it” so this was perfect! You can find this & many more wonderful personalized gifts at Makaboo.
Toys
My gifts are for my girls ages 1 & 2.5. Be sure to check out Julie’s guide if you are looking for boy gifts.
These dolls are not only adorable & handmade, they were designed by me! Cleo & Poppy has a line of dolls & other fantastic gifts, but they also give the option of designing a doll yourself. I picked every detail, down to the hair accessories. I can’t wait for the girls to get these. This is a gift I know I will cherish forever (& hope they do too)! The dolls even have “Maggie”& “Alex” stitched on the back of the leg.
(From top right)
Land of Nod Xylophone Nesting Blocks for Alex
Land of Nod Pastel Handy Kid Tools for Maggie
Disney Store Vet Care Kit for Maggie
Land of Nod World Playground Ball for Alex
Stay tuned for more info on toys from The Land of Nod next week!!
Stocking Stuffers
Posies & Petals: Maggie loves hair accessories & the handmade items from Posies & Petals are a favorite of mine.
Lili Love Creations: Owl Hat & Pink Tea Set. Lili Love has great gifts & stocking stuffers for all ages.
Armadillo Dreams Wooden Bears: These bears are so sweet & come in a little bag. They’re the perfect size for a stocking.
Shopping for Men
Shopping for Tom, my dad & brothers is always the toughest for me. This year I am excited about what I found.
Swingbyte: I am thrilled to find this company. This is the perfect gift for my husband, father-in-law & brothers. It incorporates golf & technology. If you have a man on your list that likes either of those, this is the perfect gift. Look for Swingbyte this weekend as part of Yellow Friday.
“Named by Golf Digest as one of the “12 Coolest Items” at the 2012 PGA Show, Swingbyte puts answers to a better golf game on golfers’ mobile devices – and in the cloud. Swingbyte is a wireless 3D swing analyzer that weighs less than one ounce, attaches easily to any golf club, and is compatible with Apple and Android smartphones and tablets.  Immediately after a swing, the Swingbyte app will display an interactive 3D visual of your swing along with key data. With real-time feedback in the palm of their hands, Swingbyte helps golfers improve faster, making it the perfect gift for the golfers in your life!”
Land’s End Dress Shirts: Great quality & price & you can add a monogram to make it a little more “personal”. I think i’ve gotten my dad a dress shirt for the past 20 years, but this year it will have a monogram!
Cloudveil Teton Hat: This is an awesome hat if you have any skiers on your list.
When Tom & I were dating, we were on a ski trip with friends & he bought this ski hat. He loved the hat & wore it all the time. We always joked because he would lose it, think it was gone & it would magically turn up (one time we found it days later in the parking lot of the grocery store). Anyway, last winter it got mixed in with the laundry & went in the dryer. Let’s just say it came out too small for even Alex to wear. This year I plan on having the hat “magically appear” again: under the Christmas Tree.
My Wish List:
Here are a few things that i’ve been “wishing for”. Maybe it will give you some ideas for your own list or other ladies you’ll be shopping for.
Laurel Treasures Initial Rings: I have a necklace with the girls initials, but can never wear it because Alex is always trying to pull it off. I saw these rings & just love them.  They are tiny & the little initial on them is so sweet. They also stack perfectly & even look nice with a wedding band. Look for them on Yellow Friday.
Miss Monogram Monogrammed Pashmina Scarf: Perfect personalized gift for any woman. Check back during Yellow Friday for a fantastic deal for this whole shop.
Holly Go Design Ikat Robe: the most “cheerful” robe i’ve seen. I’m hoping this helps me wake up at 6am.
Christmas Wear
I love fun, festive kids clothes around the holidays. Here are a few of our favorites:
Haute Smocks Christmas Pajamas
Hartstrings Christmas Dresses & Shoes
Nan’s Fancy Pants Holiday Wear: This Etsy shop is full of great outfits for the holidays. There are also adorable pajamas (check out Julie’s guide to see these). Maggie’s wearing one of the onesie dresses & Alex is wearing a Christmas jumper. These dresses are comfortable & festive – perfect for kids to wear for holiday parties!
