Holiday Traditions and Charitable Giving With Hickory Farms

December 19, 2014

Throughout the holiday season, one thing I try to keep in mind, is that traditions matter. My oldest, Maggie, will be 5 soon and this is the first year that I’ve noticed she’s constantly talking about things we did last year for Christmas. Yesterday she asked “will we get new ornaments the night before Christmas again?” It made me so happy she remembered that, and it made me realize that our family traditions are “catching on” with the kids, and it’s an important part of the holidays and our family. Growing up, we always got a new Christmas ornament on Christmas Eve. I still have so many of them, and for most, I can remember the year I got them. I started this same tradition with my kids, and it’s just one of the special parts about our family’s Christmas. As the kids grow, I plan to continue some of the traditions my husband and I had growing up as well as starting some of our own, new traditions.

For many families, Hickory Farms and their holiday gift baskets, have been part of their holiday traditions for years. For more than 60 years Hickory Farms has been there to provide people with holiday options that are beautifully presented and also taste delicious. Families around the country have been sending their family and friends Hickory Farms baskets for decades. Hickory Farms offers a variety of specialty foods and holiday food gifts. They also offer gifts in a wide price range.

This year Hickory Farms introduced their first  Signature Chocolate Collection.  The Hickory Farms Signature Chocolate Collection is available in select stores, from the catalogue and online at HickoryFarms.com.

In addition to having delicious gift options, sending Hickory Farms gifts is a nice family tradition, because of their charitable giving. Hickory Farms supports Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign. Share Our Strength is the leading non-profit organization working to end childhood hunger in America by 2015. Between the support of Hickory Farms and their customers, they have raised more than $3.3 million. The money helps to provide funding for summer meal programs, emergency food assistance, nutrition education, holiday charitable giving and long-term solutions for families in need. So as you shop the Hickory Farms site for holiday gifts this season, you’re also helping others too. Two campaigns to note:

For each Party Planner gift box sold this holiday season, Hickory Farms will donate $5 to Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry. Campaign.

Hickory Farms has 5 products that they offer free shipping to military APO and FPO addresses, including the “Festive Cheese Sampler” gift basket and “Beef Hearty Hickory” basket.

Sending delicious gifts at the holidays is a wonderful way to bring holiday cheer and a fun tradition. Helping others and especially those in need, is one of the most important holiday traditions to start and keep. What are some of your family’s holiday traditions?
