The Chirping Moms

10 Fun Play Dough Activities

January 24, 2013

One of our favorites activities in this house, both for children and mama, is play dough!  Today we are going to share a little about Love Bubs, a shop dedicated to making scented play dough, as well as share 10 AWESOME activities to keep your little ones engaged with play dough.

We wanted to feature our TOP 10 FAVORITE play dough ideas today with you all…
1.  Build a play dough snowman (with this cold weather, what else can we think of?!?!)
2.  Make pretend cookies (perfect for Valentine’s Day using some sequins, buttons, etc. for sprinkles)
3.  Play dough Valentines
4.  Creating play dough letters, perfect for preschoolers
5.  Making play dough monsters with wiggly eyes and pipe cleaners
6.  Get creative and make a play dough zoo!
7.  Accessorize your Little People with play dough.
8. Play dough noodle threading
9.  Love the idea of play dough mats, several found here.
10.  Play dough pizza shop…This is Aiden’s favorite.
We are also excited to share the awesome Etsy shop, LoveBubs, with you.  LoveBubs creates handmade non-toxic play dough in delicious and fun scents.  Some of the scents included in the shop are:  pink lemonade, cinnamon roll, cherry cola, mint chocolate, pumpkin spice, and so much more!  When I saw that the shop carried a bubble gum scented play dough, I knew that Aiden would LOVE it as he has a slight obsession with bubble gum right now.  Maggie put the “rose scented” play dough to test, which is part of the Valentine’s Day scented pack, which also includes scents:  cinnamon hearts and chocolate covered cherries!

The play dough really smells amazing!  Aiden couldn’t stop smelling the play dough over and over…

And all of the kids had so much fun creating pizzas, cookies, letters, and so much more with their scented play dough. Love Bubs makes play dough party favors which would be perfect for any kids’ party or the classroom Valentine exchange coming up!

The best thing about play dough is how long it keeps the kids busy and content…

With the freezing temperatures that we are having yet again today, I think we may have to pull out our Love Bubs play dough for another afternoon of hibernating inside!

As a kid I always loved playdough, can't wait until my Bean is old enough for it so I can play with her! I'll have to check out that shop, playdough always had such a weird, icky smell.
