A Fun Snack and Drinks for a Kids Luau

July 30, 2019

By: Courtney Byrne

Having a luau? Or maybe just a little summer bash? Today I’m sharing an easy luau drink and snack for kids: how to make a juice box into a hula dancer and how to make any muffin or cupcake look like a pineapple. You need very few supplies and it doesn’t take much time at all. These would be fun for a luau, a bbq, a birthday party or even a class party.

Easy luau drink and snack for kids

I always love cute cups for parties but it’s just so much easier for kids to use a juice box or juice pouch. So now we decorate them with a theme. These hula dancer juice boxes were so easy. The hula skirt is just some green construction paper glued to the juice box. For the flower I cut the string of a Hawaiian lei and used the flowers off of it. So scissors, some glue and a few minutes and you have juice boxes ready to do the hula!

How to make luau Juice Boxes:

Supplies: Juicy Juice juice boxes, Hawaiian flowers, green paper, scissors and glue

How to: Cut the green paper so they cover a little less than half the height of the juice box. Fringe the middle half of the paper and then glue the strip of paper around the juice box. Next glue some Hawaiian flowers on top. Your juice box is ready to hula!

How to make luau muffins

I call them pineapple muffins but they’re actually banana muffins dressed up for a luau! You can make these with any muffin or cupcake you like. I used yellow cupcake liners and the dress toppers (found at Oriental Trading).
