If there is one show that my oldest son loved the most when he was a toddler…it was Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. We started each day snuggled together on the couch with an episode of our favorite show, watching Mickey & his some of our favorite friends. We ended the episode by getting up and doing the infamous Hot Dog Dance together. Six years (& three more kids!), we still love to start some of these lazier summer days snuggled on the couch together watching one of our favorite channels for kids, Disney Junior. Now, we can catch one of our favorite characters, Mickey Mouse, in the new show: Mickey & the Roadster Racers.
In the show, Mickey & the Roadster Racers, Mickey and his friends race around the globe & their hometown, Hot Dog Hills. You can catch daily episodes of Mickey & the Roadster Racers on Disney Junior. But, one of our favorite things to do this summer has been to catch some of the brand new episodes of some of our favorite shows on the Disney Channel each Friday morning. As part of the Disney Junior FRiYAY line-up, viewers can catch new episodes of all of their favorite Disney Junior shows including Mickey & the Roadster Racers, Elena of Avalor, Puppy Dog Pals, and more every Friday morning on Disney Channel. Today, I am going to share a fun craft for kids that is inspired by our favorite character & the show, Mickey & the Roadster Racers.
Mickey Mouse Tape Resist Craft
Supplies Needed:
- White Canvas
- Washable Paint
- Paintbrushes
- Masking Tape
Directions:
1. Before it’s time for your child to paint, there is a little preparation that needs to be done ahead of time. To create a tape resistance painting, you have to put the paint down before the craft project. For this craft, I drew a Mickey Mouse head on to the canvas. It was super easy to draw using a simple bowl and cup. To create the large circle for the head, I traced a bowl. To create the smaller circles for the ears, I traced a cup.
2. Place masking tape down to completely fill the Mickey Mouse shape.
3. Now, it’s time to paint. Prepare the paint & place next to the canvas.
4. Now it’s time to paint…
5. Make sure to have the canvas completely covered in paint & then let dry!
6. Once dry, remove the tape and Mickey Mouse will appear!
We hope you enjoy our fun Mickey Mouse craft for kids! Make sure to tune into the Disney Channel FRiYAY mornings for new episodes of Mickey and the Roadster Races, as well as some favorite Disney Junior shows. You can also catch episodes of Mickey and the Roadster Races throughout the week on Disney Junior.
