Miles’ Milestones: 11 Months

January 25, 2017

IMG_4026

This year has flown by way too fast. At the same time, we’ve really enjoyed each and every little milestone. Miles has the sweetest personality and watching him grow and learn new things is an absolute joy. It’s fun to see his siblings reactions to his milestones. Maggie and Alex are old enough to enjoy watching Miles learn how to do new things, cheer him on and even help him along the way. It’s fun to see Tommy’s reaction when Miles learns something new. He’s usually not so sure about it at first: like when he learned to crawl over and take his toys!

Milestones

This past month we had a lot of quiet relaxing time at home. The holidays are over and it’s been about hanging at home until the next big holiday: Miles first birthday! This month Miles is a crawling machine. He crawls really fast and sometimes pushes with one foot on the floor and one knee to crawl faster.

Milestones

He never sits still. I’ve enjoyed taking his monthly pictures with our milestone blanket and knew the time would come when he would no longer just lay there and smile. This month it was impossible to get a picture of him on his blanket….or at least not one where he’s trying to escape.

Milestones

This month Miles enjoyed playing out in the snow for the first time. He had a blast, especially being pulled around on the sled. He loved it until he started to get cold and then couldn’t wait to be back inside.

Milestones

Miles favorite new “trick” this month is sticking his tongue out when you ask “where’s your tongue”. He thinks it’s so funny and so do we!

Milestones

Miles is starting to stand up while holding onto things. He is so proud of himself when he does it. He was especially proud the first time he could stand at his brother’s work bench and play with him.

Milestones

Miles loves to dance. His favorite songs to dance to are the Hot Dog Dance and the intro song to Elena of Avalor. He goes crazy for Elena – even if I sing the song, he breaks out in dance.

This month we took a day trip to Jenkinsons Boardwalk. Miles loved the aquarium and clapped when he saw fish he liked. He got to sit in the sand and even eat his first boardwalk french fry.

Milestones

Miles favorite toy is still his ball. He likes to play “catch”, rolling the ball around. If he gets his hands on a stuffed animal, he hugs it and rests his head on it. Miles also loves books all of a sudden. His favorite is Goodnight Moon (just like his siblings!).

Milestones

Miles loves playing with his brother and sisters. His sisters discovered he fits in their doll stroller and his brother is constantly telling him “I lub you Miles”. We really can’t believe our little Miles will be one so soon!
