My Favorite Baking Mixes: Sticky Fingers Bakeries

September 4, 2012

Back in April, while on a trip to Chicago, my friend Meghan made the most delicious scones for breakfast. I was so impressed with her baking skills. She told me they were a bag mix from Sticky Fingers Bakeries & to order some ASAP because all you do is add water. Meghan is a WAY better baker then I am so I doubted my scones would taste nearly as good as hers. I ordered a bunch of mixes and sure enough all you do is add water & bake. It’s that easy & they are delicious every time.

Bags of Sticky Fingers scone mixes are a staple in our house. I am not a great baker, so when I have house guests, a neighbor has a baby, etc, I now have something to bake that tastes great!

I was hooked on the blueberry scone mix, but have branched out to try different flavors as well. They are all so good. AND here’s another great thing about these mixes: they now have a gluten free line! Moms looking for a gluten free snack – look no further, your kids will love these.

Sticky Fingers‘ mixes contain no artificial flavors, color, preservatives, trans-fats or saturated fats. They only contain all natural ingredients.

In addition to the wide variety of scone mixes, Sticky Fingers has mixes to make muffins, brownies & Irish soda bread. They also have a delicious line of fruit spreads (my husband is hooked on their pepper jelly).

I enjoy their story, so I wanted to share it:

Sticky Fingers Bakeries was founded in 1987 by fraternity brothers Tom Owens and Ted Vogelman in San Diego, initially as a thriving retail bakery. The scones in particular were highly popular, selling out every day. Requests for the recipe kept coming. So Tom and Ted worked to develop a scone mix that would enable their busy patrons to recreate the bakery’s popular scones at home by just adding water. The mix was a hit. So they kept going. And the company kept growing.

I appreciate that they worked to make a healthy, all natural mix that is fast & easy to make. Maggie loves baking & this recipe I can let her do “all by herself”.

Sticky Fingers Bakeries is going to send one lucky winner any 3 mixes they would like (scones, muffins, brownies, etc).

Baking just got a lot easier!
