Mickey and Minnie Mouse Party: Showing Our #DisneySide

February 26, 2014

When I found out I had a chance to throw a party showing off our Disney Side, I was thrilled. I love planning parties & my kids love everything Disney; I knew if would be a fun combo. Honestly, we show our #DisneySide daily: Mickey Mouse Clubhouse in the morning, Princess dress up &  Frozen dance parties in the afternoon, reading Disney books, etc. Our Disney Side @Home Celebration would be a special chance to invite all of our friends over & throw a fun Disney bash.

Once we were selected to be hosts, I started to narrow down some fun ideas, to come up with the party’s theme. I wanted to include the girls, and their vote was Minnie!

We started to plan the party: food, decorations, etc. I browsed Pinterest for some inspiration & also used the Disney Side Celebrations website. This site has wonderful ideas for fun activities to do with your children & great party planning ideas.

We were so excited when our special box of Disney Side supplies came in the mail from Disney. We had a whole suitcase of fun to go through!

We threw a Minnie & Mickey play date at our house. Everyone had a blast!

The Invite:

How To: I printed the invites on red card stock. Then I glued on a silver heart & a red Mickey cut out (bought a Mickey punch  on Amazon).

The Decorations:

How To: Get 1 large & 2 small styrofoam balls. Spray paint black. Connect the 2 small to the large with toothpicks. Add a bow to make “Minnie” or leave alone to be Mickey. I used a thin, wood dowel to make it stand in a metal pail.

How To: Use a Mickey Punch to make the Mickey heads & glue onto paper straws.

The Activities:

The Food:

The Favors:

How To: Made the favor bags by glueing on polka dot paper & a bow for the Minnie bags & black paper & buttons for the Mickey bags.

Filled the bags with items from our Disney Side Celebration Kit plus a few items found at CVS & Target.

The moms got Mickey & Minnie prints (from the Disney Side Celebration Kit). And the babies got these!

We were so grateful for the supplies Disney sent us to host the party. One of the activities in the package of supplies, was shirts to decorate with fabric markers. The kids had a blast with this activity. Since they were all very young, and just learning to draw, I used the Disney cookie cutters we received, as something for them to trace on the shirts.  We’ll be using our new suitcase that held all of the supplies, when we fly to Disney World tomorrow morning!

You can host your own Disney Side Celebration anytime! Be sure to tag pictures #DisneySide so we can share in your fun!

I was not compensated for this post. I did receive products to host the Disney Side @Home Celebration. As always, all opinions are my own.
