The Chirping Moms

Simple Patriotic Handprint Craft

June 1, 2022

Handprint crafts are a fun way to decorate the house around the holidays and also to “capture” your little one’s size for the holiday that year. I love taking out holiday handprints from years past and seeing how tiny their hands were. Here’s a super simple patriotic handprint craft. This one is fun for Memorial Day or 4th of July.

Our patriotic shirts are from our favorite: Pink Chicken!

Patriotic Handprint Craft

We made a handprint firework with red, white and blue.

Supplies: For this craft all you need is white paper and red & blue paint

Directions: Have your child make a handprint with blue paint (or red!). Then let them paint small lines coming off of the handprint in red and blue to make it look like a firework.

This is a great craft to have kids make at summer camp or at home on a rainy day. It’s cute for Memorial Day, 4th of July and Flag Day. Kids will have fun making the paint streaks around their handprint and it’s such a cute memento. If you want it to be something to display at the holidays each year, you can also make it on a canvas. I have a canvas turkey handprint that my girls made when they were 1 and 2 that I still put out every year – and they are 10 and 12 now!
