Snack Ideas for Moms on the Go

May 13, 2014

Park and pool weather are finally back in season!  Today, we are sharing “Snack Ideas for Moms on the Go” to help get your refrigerators and pantries set for “on the go” snack options!

Snack Ideas for Moms on the Go II The Chirping Moms
Snack Ideas for Moms on the Go
 1.  Snack sized cheese.  Some of our favorites are Sargento Cheddar Sticks or Cracker Barrel Cheddar Packs.  Another favorite are the Kraft cheese cubes.
2.  Breakstone Cottage Doubles.  This is an easy breakfast or lunch idea to grab and go as you are running out the door!
3.  Olives To Go.  You can guess who’s pick this is, Courtney the pregnant mama, is loving these right now for her “grab and go” snack to the park!
4.  Jif Peanut Butter “to go” packs.  These are perfect to have on hand as you can use these with crackers, fruit, and more.
5. Granola or Nutrition bars.  Right now, I am loving the KIND brand.
6. Greek yogurt cups.  This is my breakfast of choice most days or an easy lunch for me to pack to take to the playground.  I always have granola on hand to throw in to make it extra tasty and fulfilling.
7. Red Jacket juice.  My juice of choice right now, flavorful and 100% juice.
8.  Crystal Light Berry Sangria liquid drops.  As close as I can get to a sangria most days!
9.  Trader Joe’s snacks.  There are SO many things I love to find at Trader Joe’s for myself.  Organic animal crackers.  Chocolate covered almonds.  Powerberries.  Kettlecorn.  We would love to hear your favorite Trader Joe’s finds!
10.  Popchips.  I love that you can buy the single serve bags with Amazon Prime.  An easy and light snack for summer for me and the kids!
11.  Odwalla smoothies.  Perfect for grabbing and go for a more complete liquid meal!
12.  Fresh fruit and vegetables.  Of course, this would make the list!
13.  Hummus and pretzels/pita chips.  Throw some hummus in a tupperware.  Grab a bag of pretzels for the whole family.  And head out the door.
14.  Dried fruit.  Two of my favorites are dried mangoes & dried cherries.  I also love yogurt raisins.  And dried fruit is easy to have on hand in the car for a long amount of time.  Just keep in the glove compartment for an easy snack for you and the kids.
15.  Popcorn.  This is another family favorites.  Before we leave the house to head to park or playground, we park 1-2 bags and everyone snacks on it!
Talking about being on the go, I have a new go-to stroller find for you.
The Urbini Hummingbird Stroller.

A little more about the Urbini Hummingbird Stroller.

“At less than 7 pounds, the Urbini Hummingbird is the world’s lightest full-featured baby stroller, and folds instantly with hand making it easy to bring children everywhere.  It’s both convenient, a lightweight stroller with a durable, reinforced aluminum frame that stands on its own when folded, a swivel arm bar for easy access, and a roomy storage basket – and comfortable, with its foam padded handle, multi-postion reclining seat, and five point safety harness.  Available now, the Urbini Hummingbird can be used of children weighing up to 50 pounds and comes in four colors (lime, raspberry, peacock, and balck) for $99.99.”

Reasons why I am loving the Urbini Hummingbird stroller:

  • Seriously, it’s so lightweight.  No more bulkiness.  Trust me, last month I attempted to take all three kids to the mall while we were visiting Grandma.  It was a fine and peachy trip until we made it halfway through the mall and the meltdowns began.  I ended up pushing my three year old in the stroller one-handed while carrying baby Abby with the other hand.  And it still turned, despite my lack of two hands pushing the stroller.  It was easy.
  • We use our strollers a lot when we travel and I am looking forward to not having to haul a giant beast of a stroller through the airport.  When you travel with kids, you look to streamline as much as you can so you aren’t carrying three children & suitcases & a massive stroller & all the kids’ belongings.  Again, the lightweight frame is going to make it easy to take with us and help keep us from being overwhelmed travelers.  And it folds with one hand, honestly, making it perfect for the airport security lines.  Nothing makes airport navigating beyond stressful than trying to manage a beast of stroller.  Thanks Urbini for helping me hopefully keep my sanity through the months of summer travel with this super lightweight stroller.
  • It’s comfortable and colorful.  The seat is well-padded with cushions to keep the 5 point harness straps from rubbing against Abby.  The handle bar is not plastic & hard.  Instead, it’s a foam padded handle.  This is perfect for our little monkey girl who likes to attempt to climb in and out of the stroller.  No more whacking her head & tear-filled cries due to the plastic bar that goes across the front of many strollers.
  • The price.  Less than $100.  Awesome.  There are so many strollers out there that are awesome & amazing, but the price immediately kills the deal.  This stroller is affordable and can be found at Walmart or Walmart.com.
  • Other things I love:  the full-sized canopy sun shade, the storage basket, and the adjustable recline.

Now, bring on the summer!  We are getting our house ready to be “on the go”!
