Where To Wednesday: Trendy Travel With Momtrends

May 15, 2014

For the second year in a row, I had the honor of attending the Momtrends travel event. The evening was filled with style, mingling and great travel tips. My favorite part of the night was having a chance to hear from Kim-Marie Evans, who writes Luxury Travel Mom. I’ve read her site for a long time, and it was great to hear her speak about some of her latest travel adventures. As a mom who loves to travel, I look up to Kim-Marie, because she travels the world with her 4 children. She shared some great tips for family travel, including looking into group tours for a more stress free trip. One of the tour companies recommended for families, was Austin Lehman Adventures. Group tours can also give you an opportunity to see places you would not normally see. For more travel tips and ideas, visit Luxury Travel Mom.  My favorite Luxury Travel Mom quote of the night: “Travel is about those spontaneous moments where you don’t know who you’ll meet. Go beyond the traditional family vacation and try adventure travel that submerses you in the culture.”

The event was held at Butterfly Studio Salon in Chelsea. The salon is a big, beautiful open space. It was great for the event, and even better for getting a new hair style before the festivities kicked off. They gave us quick, easy styles that are easy to do while traveling. They showed off products that help with “travel styles” and are easy to pack. We also learned some easy looks for traveling like the “upside down pony tail”.

We spent some time checking out the carseats and accessories from Britax. Whether your summer travel plans involve a flight or a road trip, Britax has you covered. A few of my favorites:

– The Britax Travel Cart: easily bring your car seat by pulling it along through the airport. Doubles as a stroller/place for the child to ride!

– Kick Mat: keep your seats protected, plus it has great pockets to organize toys, books, etc for your summer road trip

– Seat Saver Waterproof Liner is perfect for summer: it’s a liner that easily fits into a car seat or stroller and protects from wet bathing suits or potty training toddlers

Next we had a sneak peek at the new BOB Revolution Pro stroller. It will be available as a single or double. The new features (like an adjustable handle) are perfect for a traveling family or if you like to start your summer vacation with a nice run on the beach!

Last, but certainly not least, we took a look at some awesome pool essentials for Mom and child! We watched some of our fellow moms strut the runway in this seasons Miraclesuit looks. These amazing suits make you look 10 pounds lighter, in colorful, sheik styles.

For the kids, we previewed a new accessory for them to bring along to the pool or beach: the Trunki Paddlepak.  The Paddlepak is a waterproof swim bag that comes in fun, adorable styles, like “Pinch the Lobster” and “Inky the Octopus”. You can order at Trunki.com.

The evening was a lot of fun, and very informative. Momtrends has a knack for throwing a wonderful event and I always leave ready for some trendy travel!
