The Chirping Moms

Some “Mom” Reads for You!

May 10, 2013

Thank Goodness it is Friday!  Motherhood brings you some of those weeks, right, where you just feel like you are surviving.  This week, every single person in this house caught the stomach flu, baby Abby ended up in the emergency room due to possible dehydration/projectile vomiting, we are working through some sale of the house issues, and to top it all off the dishwasher broke.  After spending Wednesday night in the emergency room (thankfully all is okay!), I looked at my husband and said that our luck just has to turn around.  It just has to.  And so as Mother’s Day weekend is finally here, I am looking forward to a weekend of “just being” with my family.  I have no requests, other than on Sunday I would like no dishes, no cooking, a few minutes to myself, and a little extra love from the husband and these sweet kids.

Today, as part of our Friday Favorites series, I am sharing some of my favorite “mom-related” posts that I have stumbled upon lately.  I find a lot of my mom inspiration through other bloggers and ALL of these “pins” that I’m sharing with you are MUST READS. So if you have a few extra minutes this Mother’s Day weekend, head on over to these pins and get revived, encouraged, and celebrate your life as a mom.

I actually stumbled upon this article, To Parents of Small Children:  Let Me Be the One Who Says It Out Loud, while we were waiting for the doctor to give us our discharge papers in the emergency room.  One of my friends had this in her Facebook feed and it is a MUST READ for all parents with little ones—seriously, go read.

I just love this post, 200 Ways to Bless Your Children with a Happy Childhood, with simple and easy ideas on how to spend time with your children.

The next post, Distracted?  Tips on Creating Media Balance in the Home, is one that I continually struggle with, as most bloggers do.  I love all the forms of social media:  Facebook, Instragram, etc., but I really try hard to spend my days with the kids and put aside all the extra things.  But it’s no easy thing to do and this post is a great resource on ways to help us all do that.  This is just a constant struggle, can I get an “Amen”?!?

I stumbled upon this post last night from one of the blogs I follow, Sole Searching Mamma.  She has five boys, what?!  Let’s just call her Supermom right now!  Click to see 10 Loving Lessons just for Moms on raising boys!

I love this post from a mom to four children on 10, actually 11, secrets of motherhood.  These are the simple things that help her get through the trenches of motherhood that we could all adopt in our own house.  I love their bedtime routine as a family together and everything else she has included in this post, click on over to read more!
