I wasn’t always a big selfie fan. Then I realized that if it wasn’t for selfies, I might not have many pictures with my kids. My brothers and I have thousands of pictures from our childhood, but only a handful with our mom, because she was always the one taking the photos. I am always the one taking photos in our house, so I make a point to snap a selfie now and then with the kids. They are not always the best pictures,  but I’m in them with my kids, which makes them something I know we’ll cherish years from now. Right now, Huggies has an awesome campaign going on encouraging people to share a self with their children, using #UltraHug. When you upload it to social media and use that hashtag, you can comment with a community charity or project you’d like to see receive their $2,000 grant and why.

From now until June 25th, Huggies will be accepting all selfies with the hashtag #UltraHug, and featuring them in a collage on the campaign landing page. Then, on July 6th, voting will begin to narrow down the 20 finalists to 10 winners who will win a $2,000 grant from Huggies for their nominated community initiative. This is such an easy, fun way to help local charities. The campaign kicks off with the launch of Huggies new Snug & Dry Ultra Diapers. They have improved protection at a better value. Who doesn’t want cheaper diapers that keep baby drier?

You may have seen our #UltraHug selfie on Instagram or Twitter. I chose to nominate Baby Buggy. Our family has supported this organization for a long time now, and I’m always amazed at what they do to support families. Baby Buggy Baby Buggy provides essential clothing, gear & services to families in need nationwide. Their headquarters is not too far from where we live. We’ve attended their events and done our best to donate diapers, winter coats and other items. During Hurricane Sandy, so many families where we lived were displaced from their homes, without power, and lost many items from their home. We were lucky to have my parents close by to stay with, but I kept thinking there must be so many families with babies and small children that were displaced with none of the important items they needed. I was inspired to see how many diapers and supplies Baby Buggy donated. They are constantly helping families in need. I never want to think about children cold in the winter, with no coats to wear. We are so fortunate to be able to buy our children warm coats. There are so many people who can’t do that. It warms my heart to see how many coats Baby Buggy collects to warm the children in need. To see more about what they do, visit their “who we help” page. We would love to see them win $2,000 to help more families!

Now you have the chance to win a $2,000 grant from Huggies to benefit a local community project that you would like to nominate! Just upload your  #UltraHug selfie and explain which project you want to support and why –  it could be your favorite local park, the playground where you take your kids, or any other project that needs some love! Be sure to also check out the campaign landing page to see the other #UltraHug selfies, see you photo in the feed and then vote!
