Teddy’s 1st Birthday Party

March 23, 2021

Well it’s World Bear Day so what better time to share Teddy’s 1st birthday party. It was an adorable Teddy Bear themed birthday party. We kept it super small, simple and outdoors. The day was so much fun and there were lots of bear-y cute additions…..

Teddy Bear Themed Birthday Party

Teddy Bear Birthday Party Invitations:

I ordered these Teddy bear from invitations from Honey Bear Pages. I’ve loved her shop for a long time and have gotten great personalized gifts, gift tags, etc. I was excited to order invites from there for the first time. They were awesome to work with.

We had the party in the morning and I ordered bagels and breakfast sandwiches. I got people’s orders ahead of time so they were individually wrapped with names. It was so easy and there was no waste. Some of the new “party” ideas I’ve come up with to try and be as safe as possible these days, seem to just be better for parties in general – like this! Then we had individual cups of tater tots and lots of Teddy grahams!

The drinks were probably my favorite party addition… I knew I wanted to incorporate the bear shaped honey containers. I was thrilled to find them on Amazon for such a great price. I ordered them even though I wasn’t totally sure what I’d do with them. Then I realized I could fill them with “bear colored” drinks for an easy party beverage! I did apple juice and sweet tea. The kids loved these!

Dessert time! Teddy had an adorable bear smash cake from Cake Artist Cafe. We had actually gotten it to do on his real birthday 2 days prior but he “smashed” the family cake and dug in when he saw it ha. So we saved this cute bear for the party!

For the guests, we got individually packaged cupcakes and bear rice krispie treats from Kandy Kakes. She made these after I showed her an invite. I love the gingham 1’s!

I know I said the bear shaped drinks were my favorite but….this crown I will save forever! The teddy bear ONE and the blue gingham are just so sweet. I ordered it from an Etsy shop: Sweetcakes & Sassypants.

The shop owner, Jessica, is so kind and made the crown the exact color I needed. I would highly recommend for a birthday crown!

Decor: Our Teddy Bear Party was outside in the yard. I didn’t decorate much but we did have lots of balloons (Teddy’s favorite thing!). I ordered this gingham one banner and this little gingham party hat for Teddy’s favorite teddy bear to wear.

Then I made a basket of teddy bears. I actually had these left over from when I had a pajamas themed birthday party for Miles. I simply tied some gingham ribbons on the bears and they made for some festive decor and something the kids could take with them.

I love making goodie bags. I’ve been making them since I used to throw my dolls birthday parties many (many!) years ago. I made brown lunch bags into teddy bears. It was easy and inexpensive. I put bags of Teddy grahams inside, gummy bears and little bear squishy toys.

It may have been a smaller party that our other first birthday parties but it was very special. The teddy bear theme was perfect for our little Teddy.
