Giving Thanks and Showing Gratitude

November 5, 2012

I have been thinking a lot about gratitude this week.  It could be that Thanksgiving is coming up.  Or the fact that we have made it through Hurricane Sandy safe and sound through all the devastation that it caused.  Or the fact that I get to spend the next ten days visiting my parents’ house many miles away with my two boys.    Or that last month I celebrated a great 30th birthday, had a wonderful girls’ weekend in NYC, and had lots of simple reminders about the joys in my life.

I just know that I have SO much to be thankful for, despite that some of my days as a pregnant mom with two little ones I feel like I may go crazy between stepping on toys, battles with my three year old going on fourteen, washing endless dishes, husband commuting long hours, and SO much more.  There is SO much that I appreciate in my life and I am hoping to use this next month to really reflect on the joys and blessings in my life.  I would also like to take some time in the next month to really concentrate on beginning on teach gratitude in my little ones.
First of all,I LOVE this idea that Paper Coterie offers:  Daily Gratitude Journals.  You can personalize these books with photos, things that make you smile, and everything you are grateful for.  What a great way to sit down daily and reflect about what one is thankful in their life and to save your thoughts to reflect back on.

I have also shared my love for Pinterest on the blog before, so today I want to share some of the great pins that I have found related to thankfulness.  I have included some of the following:  thankful turkey hands, a free “thankful” printable, creating a simple “gratitude” chalkboard wall, thankful pinecone turkey, printable “Thankful” lunchbox notes, and the idea of a thankful tree!

Daily Gratitude Journals…what a fab idea! I'm doing a 30 Days of Thankful Challenge for November, but it's great to try to do that all year long. There's always something to be thankful about!

Thanks SO much for linking up with us at the Super Sunday Sync! Hope to see you again next week 🙂

So many of my friends do write everyday on facebook one thing they are thankful for. We've done a Thanksgiving "Turkey" or tree on our eating area wall every year. I wrote about it in my blog this week (which post actually becomes live tomorrow). Thanks for these other ideas. I love the "stick" tree.

I'm visiting through Cornerstone Confessions Titus 2 Tuesday.

Hello! I found you on the Mommy Moments blog hop. Your title, "Thanksgiving and Gratitude" caught my attention. I am a daily gratitude journal-er. It really does make a difference in outlook and perspective. I host a weekly linkup, "Sunday Gratitude" LInk Up. I would love to have you link up. I'm including the link below:
