The Chirping Moms

The Best Gender Neutral Baby Gifts { & Giveaway }

June 24, 2014

We recently had our 20 week ultra sound, and once again, decided not to find out the gender of the baby. From family members to strangers in the grocery store, everyone asks “do you know if it’s another girl?”. We’ll all have to wait until October to find out! Even though I’ve never found out the gender of the baby ahead of time, I still enjoy shopping for some fun new items for the baby before they arrive. Now that it’s the “3rd time around” I’ve put together a list of some of my favorite gender neutral baby items (with a chance to win them all at the end). If you’re heading to a baby shower and don’t know the gender of the baby or if your shopping for your own little one, here’s some great things to get! Whether the baby is a boy or girl, these awesome items will be adorable and enjoyed.

Our Favorite Gender Neutral Baby Gifts:

1. Freshly Picked Moccasins

I’ve followed Freshly Picked on social media for a while now, and love seeing their new styles. Alex was a little too big when I first spotted them, but as soon as I new there would be a new little one joining our crew, I knew it was time for our first pair of Freshly Picked moccasins. Besides being adorable, the moccasins are wonderfully made in the USA. There are so many great colors to choose from, and many that are gender neutral. Because they are so neutral, they make a great shower gifts, baby gifts, 1st birthday gifts and great hand-me-downs amongst siblings. Maggie and Alex are very excited for the new baby, and like to find new things as well as their old baby items and put them aside for their new sibling. They were both extra excited when they saw the yellow Freshly Picked moccasins. They were giggling over the teeny shoes and keep saying they “can’t wait to put them on the baby”.

2. Goat Milk Kidware

Goat Milk is a favorite brand in our house. Their well made, organic clothes are soft and hold up so well. They are the best “basics” i’ve found. Both of my girls have solid Goat Milk thermals that they wore with skirts and under jumpers all winter. Since so many of the basics and pajamas Maggie and Alex have from Goat Milk could certainly be for a boy too, I headed over to baby collection to look for some infant basics. Their baby clothes are just as soft and wonderful. The onesie gift sets make a perfect gender neutral baby gift.

3. Little Sapling Toys

Little Sapling Toys make organic developmental toys and blocks. Their classic wooden teethers come in so many fun shapes. We love the “state teethers” and can’t wait to give our new baby their awesome New Jersey teether! You can find Little Sapling on Etsy or on their website. Their products make great baby gifts and it’s no wonder they have become the top selling baby toy shop on Etsy.

4. aden + anais

With Alex, baby #2, I was introduced to aden + anais. We started with one swaddle and quickly added multiple swaddles, towels, wash clothes, burp clothes and their Dream Blanket to our collection. I find I almost always give aden + anais products as shower and baby gifts, because I know how great they are. Three years later, Alex still sleeps with her Dream Blanket every night and we’re still using all of our bath gear. I was looking forward to getting a few new swaddles for the new baby, and aden + anais has plenty of adorable, gender neutral patterns to choose from. I went with the “mod about baby classic swaddles”, because I loved the bright critters on them.

5. Truly Sanctuary Onesies

Truly Sanctuary has been a favorite Etsy shop of mine for a while. Their shirts are bright, witty and make great gifts. Both of my girls have Truly Sanctuary tees and I wanted a bright yellow onesie for the new baby. “You are my sunshine” is a song I sing to all my babies, so I thought this one would be perfect.

6. My Rosey Posey Nursery Items

We want to update our nursery, but we’re not sure what we’ll do just yet. While browsing Etsy, I stumbled upon My Rosey Posey. The shop has some great gender neutral patterns and sells crib sheets, changing table pad covers, Bobby covers and more. Personally I think you need quite a few Bobby covers, and I get more with each baby. The patterns from My Rosey Posey are unique, gender neutral and would make a great baby gift!

Now for the giveaway!

One lucky winner will receive our 6 favorite gender neutral baby gifts. This includes:

    I like to give gender neutral hooded toddler/child sized towels. It is something practical and cute and baby won't outgrow it in a matter of weeks. My 2 year old still uses the monkey towel I got at her baby shower:)
