I wrote this post as part of my participation in a blog tour for The Motherhood on behalf of the makers of Children’s MOTRIN® and received compensation to thank me for taking the time to participate. However, all opinions expressed are my own.
Moms are unstoppable. Part of being unstoppable as a mom, is taking inspiration and tips from other moms. Sharing our skills and ideas help keep us going strong. My number one tip: find other moms that support you and that you can relate to. These moms will bring you inspiration, and also be there on the days you’re not feeling unstoppable.
The mom that keeps me unstoppable is Julie, my fellow Chirping Mom. Since the day we met, she inspired me. Long before we wrote this blog, I met Julie at the park down the street. I was new to town, knew no one and had just had Alex. It was one of the first times I ventured out of the house with the 2 girls, and by the time I got both of them fed, dressed and to the park (that’s 1 block away) I was on the verge of tears. I figured if it was that hard to make it a block, how was I ever going to lead a normal life again? Going from 1 to 2 kids is tough. It was a lot harder than I expected. When I got to the park, friendly, cheerful Julie was quick to say hello. She introduced herself and her boys. Andrew was just about 1 and Aiden was just about 3. I immediately thought: ok, good… she is still alive a year into having 2 under 2…
Julie’s boys were actively exploring the park, but she was calm, happy and taking the time to tell me all about town. She made me realize “I can do this” and 3 years later, she still makes me think that. Julie inspires and supports me all the time. She inspires me to be creative and crafty, but also reminds me when I’m “doing too much”. She’s the first to tell me “order take out tonight, you need a break”. As nervous as I am for baby #3 to arrive in a few weeks, I’ve watched Julie do it over the past year, and learned so much from how she finds balance. I feel beyond blessed to have an unstoppable mom like Julie for a friend and business partner too.
In addition to finding a mom like Julie to “team up” with, I live in a town full of unstoppable moms. I don’t know how I got so lucky, but I find myself surrounded, on a daily basis, by inspiring, supportive moms. My number 1 tip for moms: find other moms that inspire and support you. On both the best days and the worst days, I know there’s a mom next door or just around the corner that’s there to help me out, cheer me up or at least let me know she also has 20+ loads of wash to do! Make sure you have a team of moms surrounding you. The more moms supporting you, the more unstoppable you’ll find you can be!
There’s a wonderful campaign going on right now, celebrating unstoppable moms. The Unstoppable Moms campaign and Facebook page comes from the makers of Children’s MOTRIN®. Moms are invited to share tips on the MOTRIN® Facebook page that make them unstoppable. For every tip shared, there will be a $1 donation made to Safe Kids.
In addition to reading all of the tips, you can enter a sweepstakes with weekly drawings for $100 gift cards! For more info, visit: https://www.facebook.com/MOTRIN
