An Old Favorite & A New Favorite: Welch’s Juice & Their New Frozen Smoothie Kits

December 16, 2013

I’ve been drinking Welch’s 100% Grape Juice for as long as I can remember. It was the only juice  in our house when we were kids. Once I had kids, I trusted the same juice my mom had. The thing I like about Welch’s grape juice, is it’s 100% juice. There are no added colors, flavors or sugar. It’s made with grapes picked in North America. Also, something I found out recently: Welch’s grape juice is made using the entire Concord grape – skin, seeds and all – to release natural plant nutrients (polyphenols) straight from the grape. It’s a great source of antioxidant vitamin C. During these winter months, & classrooms full of runny noses, I’m always looking for extra sources of vitamins for the girls.

It’s not just the kids in our house that drink juice. My husband & I enjoy it too. When my husband fills a sippy cup for the kids, he tends to fill a cup of juice for himself too. I enjoy a glass of juice here & there, but my favorite way to drink juice is in a smoothie. I would have a smoothies every morning, but often skip them because I don’t feel like going through the whole process of digging out all the ingredients, making the smoothie, cleaning the blender, etc.

I was recently introduced to Welch’s Frozen Smoothie Kits. These kits make smoothies a lot easier & are delicious. Welch’s Frozen Smoothie Kit manufacturer, Nature’s Touch Frozen Foods, created these smoothies to help incorporate nutritious choices into everyday diets. The smoothies are high in antioxidant Vitamin C, they’re an excellent source of Calcium (when prepared with milk) & only have about 140 calories.

To make the smoothies, you simply add contents of the kit, skim milk and Welch’s 100% juice into blender, mix and enjoy. Right now there are 4 flavors: Mixed Berry, Strawberry Banana, Blueberry Cherry Blend and Strawberry Mango. My personal favorite is the Strawberry Banana.

Whenever I host fun holiday play dates for the kids,  I always take a lot of time to plan the snacks & drinks the kids will have, a fun activity for them to do, etc. This morning I decided to spend some extra time to prepare something great for the Moms! I made the Welch’s Strawberry Banana Smoothie with skim milk & Welch’s 100% Grape Juice. It was a delicious start to the day!

This post was sponsored by Welch’s. As always, all opinions are my own.
