Where To Wednesday: Our Summer On The Go

July 10, 2014

This is the first summer in 5 years that our days don’t revolve around naps, sippy cups and baby pools. The girls are at a fun, very manageable age and our days seem a lot easier than they did the past 2 summers. Next summer will certainly be a lot different, as we’ll have a new baby in the crew and 3 little ones instead of 2! I decided this summer would be filled with fun adventures and day trips for me, Maggie and Alex. We’d let Dad join in on the fun on the weekends and take some family trips here and there. Everywhere we’ll be exploring will be by car and we’ll certainly be doing a lot of walking around. The two things I knew would be essential for our summer on the go would be safe carseats and a great double stroller. Here’s what we chose:

Carseat: Britax Frontier 90 UltimateComfort Series

Alex rides in Maggie’s old Britax carseat. Since we moved Maggie out of that seat and into the next stage of carseats, we’ve tried a few, but I always looked at Alex in the Britax and knew I wanted Maggie back in a Britax as well. Julie has the Frontier 90 and loves it. We decided to try it out and I’m so glad we did. The exact seat we got is the Britax Frontier 90 UltimateComfort Series Combination Harness-2-Booster Car Seat. It’s the Onyx pattern that Britax made exclusively for Babies R Us, which I liked because it matches the seat Alex is in . It’s totally not necessary to have them match, but it makes my minivan feel just a little more stylish.

The Ultimate Comfort series is the usual Frontier Harness-2-Booster seat, but  has an added memory foam layered with comfort foam that makes the seat extra nice to ride in. Maggie loves the seat. The main reason I am happy about having this seat for our “summer on the go” is that now I feel more comfortable knowing both girls are traveling around in the safety of a Britax seat; the brand I’ve researched and trusted for years. To check out all of the features of the Frontier 90, be sure to visit the Britax site. One thing to point out about the seat that I love: the ClickTight installation system. This seat is securely installed faster and easier than any other car seat we’ve tried. Maggie hops into this seat and we’re off on our next adventure!

Stroller : BOB Revolution SE Duallie

While I want to have a fun and exciting summer with Maggie and Alex, I have to also keep in mind I am days away from my 3rd trimester and have to make sure I am safe and smart about being “on the go”. We started using the BOB Revolution SE Duallie about a month ago and it’s been a lifesaver. I wish I got this stroller 3 years ago when I first needed a double stroller. It’s easy to push, the kids are very comfortable and it’s made to last. In addition to it being perfect for me to push around on our summer excursions, it’s great to have on vacation with us for when Dad wants to take the girls for a run. I’m also looking forward to using it to run with the kids next spring, to get back in shape after baby #3. The BOB Revolution SE Duallie is perfect for jogging or walking. It has a  front swivel wheel and is an all terrain stroller. The stroller has an easy, two-step folding, lightweight frame which makes it great to transport around with us. We’ve loved having this stroller the past month and can’t wait to take it on more adventures this summer!

We’ve already had a few fun summer excursions, and before we venture out anymore, I put together two “summer on the go” checklists:

Tomorrow we’re off on our next summer adventure: a farm filled with baby animals where the girls will learn to milk a cow!

We were not compensated for this post. I did receive items from Britax for the purpose of review. As always, all opinions are my own.
