The Chirping Moms

Where to Wednesday: Please Touch Museum

November 7, 2012

Last weekend, the girls & I took a trip to visit my cousin in Philadelphia. We were excited for our sleepover at Aunt Kristin’s & to escape the gas lines & downed wires in NJ. Kristin is a teacher & had the great idea to take the girls to the Please Touch Museum. I am so glad she did – it was amazing! We stayed for hours. There is so much I’d like to share about this museum, but here are a few highlights.

One thing that I really liked was that in each area, there was a “3 & under” section that was somewhat “fenced” off. For my wild explorers, this was perfect.

If you have boys: there is a whole room dedicated to trains & also a construction site! My girls enjoyed all the “bricks” at the construction site. Maggie loved “punching her time card” when she entered the site.

I think we spent the most time at the hospital. One of my kid’s favorite things at home is their doctor kit & we only have one they have to share, but at Please Touch, there were tons! Maggie collected all of the baby patients & Alex could not get enough of the MRI machine. Maybe Maggie & Alex will have their own medical practice someday!
Another highlight was the Shop Rite grocery store. There is a big store set up just like a real grocery store. Maggie spent a long time shopping & then loved the check out. I guess she watches me shop a lot, because she knew exactly what to do when she got to the cashier!
I would highly recommend this museum. It can certainly be a full day trip. We were there for a few hours & there was a lot we didn’t have time to do. There is also a cafe that could break up the day for lunch. My girls are only 1 & 2, but I saw kids much older having a blast as well.
Maggie kept saying “we don’t have to leave yet, right?” We will definitely be returning to the Please Touch Museum again soon.

Before we left, we stopped by to take these pictures & to add a little NYC to our Philly trip.

Man that place looks amazing. I wish we had something like that here! What a great place to explore the world. I love the pic of the hospital, it looked so real no wonder your kids loved it.
    Have a great day!

We were in Philadelphia with our young son last summer, but didn't make it here. Bummer!

I have been there twice now and love it. I actually think its better than the Manhaatan Children's museum.
