2020 has been one crazy year. In the first couple months of the year, as we awaited the arrival of our 5th baby, I remember thinking “we got this, we’ve done it 4 other times”. But things were certainly different welcoming Teddy to the world. Having a baby born in a pandemic was scary and different. There were really hard things (like not seeing family) and tricky things (like not being able to find wipes). Once it was time to thinking about DIY costumes for the year, I decided to have a little fun with our little 2020 baby and think up some costumes that went along with his first 6 months…. @thechirpingmoms

We kicked it off with Tie Dye:

At this point in the year please raise your hand if you DO NOT own something tie dye. If we’ve learned anything this year it’s that we’re all a little craftier than we thought, you can tie dye just about anything and that if you get bored enough you’ll start experimenting with bleach.  Teddy’s 1st month he got not 1, not 2 but 3 DIY tie dye gifts from kids in town.

Next up: Dr. Fauci

Being born mid March, there wasn’t much that Teddy & I watched on tv during our hospital stay besides Dr. Fauci. 🦠 So this had to be one of our #youknowyouwerebornin2020 costumes. Want to DIY your own:
all you need is a baby lab coat, tie, glasses, namet ag and of course charts & graphs!! 📉📈
“Now is the time, if ever there was one, for us to care selflessly about one another.” -Dr. Fauci

Lysol Wipes: Dress like the hottest product of 2020

I FINALLY found a container of Lysol wipes!
What better Halloween costume for a #2020baby than the hottest product around?! This was the easiest costume to make: I carefully removed the label from a Lysol container & used double sided fabric tape to attach it to a onesie. The “wipe” coming out the top is just a paper towel that I attached by folding up the yellow baby hat. For an added 2020 effect, toss some toilet paper rolls into the stroller or wagon!

Bob Ross: Dress as Your Quarantine Hobby

What was your quarantine hobby? Mine was making homemade cinnamon buns… Teddy decided to be the youngest Bob Ross 🎨 enthusiast and take up painting. Back in May I read a Globe article: “Why Bob Ross’s ‘The Joy of Painting’ is perfect pandemic television” & I guess the idea stuck . If you had to dress up for Halloween as your quarantine hobby or the show you watched the most on Netflix/Hulu/Amazon… what would you be?

Our Little UberEats Driver

“I’ll track the driver and see how many minutes until dinner arrives.” Next up in our series of #2020Halloweencostumes is the perfect look for kids that want to ride vs walk this Halloween. Deck out your play car to be just like our 2020 contactless dinner pals: UberEats Drivers.

Baby Tiger with Tiger King Parents

“Hey all you cool cats & kittens” 🐯
And… for the grand finale of #teddys2020 costumes: a baby Tiger with his battling friends Joe Exotic & Carole Baskin. Because what quarantine baby didn’t spend their early days binge watching Tiger King with mom & dad?
