The Chirping Moms

3 Ideas for Your Next BBQ & This Week’s Giveaway

June 10, 2013

My favorite type of party to host is a BBQ. We have far more room outside in our yard then we do inside our house, so hosting parties outside is a lot easier. I also love all of the recipes that go along with cooking outdoors. I’ve started to find fun ways to cook burgers & pasta salad recipes are endless. For the past 5 years, Tastefully Simple’s “Everyday Grillin” seasoning has been my summer “must have”. I put it on everything: burgers, steak, chicken, fish, etc. This year, as I was getting ready to order another bottle of the seasoning, I thought it might be time to try out some of their other products. This is how I was introduced to 3 new summer favorites:

1. Dill Pickle Dip Mix: This dip mix is a powder mix in a packet. All you have to add is sour cream & mayo. It tastes just like a homemade pickle. It’s delicious & such a fun dip for a summer BBQ. I served it with carrots & crackers, but it would also be delicious with pieces of bread for dipping.

2. Dill Pickle Burgers: The Dill Pickle Dip reminded me how much I love pickles & how they are a great addition to a burger. I decided to try making a “Pickle Burger”. I used the seasoning packet from the Dill Pickle Dip Mix. I sprinkled some of the seasoning on each side of the burger along with a little pepper. They were a hit with the guests & it saved them the step of adding a pickle onto their burger!

3. Dip Chiller: I love making dips for parties, but worry about having them outside when I host a BBQ. The Tastefully Simple Dip Chiller solves the problem. You fill the bottom of the chiller with ice & the top part with dip. It keeps the dip nice & cool, even at a sunny BBQ.

If you’re not familiar with Tastefully Simple, they are a direct sales company that offers convenient, easy-to-prepare foods. Their goal is to help people spend less time in the kitchen and more time enjoying the rest of their lives.

Now for the giveaway! Tastefully Simple will send their Dill Pickle Dip Mix (comes with 2 packets of mix so you can try both recipes above) AND the Dip Chiller to one lucky winner.

I was not compensated for this post. I did receive some products for review. As always, all opinions are my own.
