Friday Favorites: 10 Father’s Day Gift Ideas

June 7, 2013

Father’s Day is next week & we are trying to come up with a good gift for our hard working Dad. Below is a list of a few things we made this year, our favorite gift from last year & some other gift ideas we might be getting. We can’t share what we picked just yet: sometimes Dad reads the blog!

Father's Day Gift Ideas || The Chirping Moms

1. New Dob Kit Filled With Toiletries

When we travel my husband likes to pack his toiletries in a zip lock bag or crammed into an old tiny dob kit that can barely zip. I thought a new dob kit would be a fun Father’s Day gift.  Right now Pottery Barn has some nice ones on sale with free shipping. Also, I was looking around Soap.com & thought it would make the gift even better to fill it with shaving cream, after shave, etc.

2. Home Depot gift card.

This is always a great option & quick & easy to get.

3. Grilling Supplies

My husband is not into cooking, but he enjoys grilling. He likes to season the burgers & steaks himself, so I thought a set of grill seasonings would be a great gift. Our favorite grill supplies are from The BBQ Pantry. You can see a few of our favorite spices, sauces & recipes in this post.

4. Handmade Gifts

We made 3 special gifts for our Dad. You can learn how to make them in this post.

5. Beer of the Month

I’ve never done this before, but i’ve heard they are great. I know my husband would enjoy it because he likes trying new beers. If you have a good company to recommend for beer of the month, please comment below!

6. Dress Up Photo Shoot

Last year we dressed like Dad & did a fun photo shoot. We used the pictures to make a big Father’s Day card. You can see our props in this post.

7. Magazine Subscription

My husband spends a lot of time commuting on the train & subway. He loves reading & there are so many great deals on Amazon & Magazines.com right now for magazine subscriptions.

8. Round of Golf

Head to your local course & get a gift certificate for a round of golf and/or buckets of golf balls for the driving range.

9. Massage

My favorite gift is a spa treatment. My husband never gets them, but who doesn’t love a massage!

10. DIY Paper Weight

This is a fun way to have a picture of the kids at the office. The supplies are just a few dollars & it’s very easy!

Supplies: wood block, photo, paint, Mod Podge, paint brush

Directions: Paint wood block. Place picture on top. Mod Podge over the picture & the whole block. Let dry.

I felt like the "real" beer of the month clubs were SO pricey! So, I made a certificate myself, and I've bought him a different six-pack each month. We have Wegmans near us, and they have a spectacular beer selection–including a great mix-n-match section!
