The Chirping Moms

31 Days of Funny Moments

October 2, 2013

Each year, The Nesting Place blog hosts a 31 Days series during the month of October. Last year, Julie & I did 31 Days for Moms. This October, we will have some fun {& giveaways} in store just for Moms , but a little something different for the 31 Days series. This year, I will be blogging, once a day with “funny little moments” in our house. I always say I am going to write down things the kids say & do that make me laugh. I’ve even bought journals to document, but they are all empty. So, for the next 31 Days, I’ll try my best to post about the funny moments in our house.

Be sure to visit The Nesting Place to see what other bloggers are writing about this month.

Post 1:

Maggie is into 2 things lately: pet shops & big words. If she hears a word she likes, she will use in (usually not in context) & repeat it often. She often asks what it means, but sometimes just “rolls with it”. As for pets, she asks for a new pet almost daily (we already have a dog & fish) & since the answer is no, she sets up pet shops in the playroom & we take turns buying her stuffed animals.

Here is how the 2 have been entertaining us lately:

Yesterday, it was my turn to shop. I entered the pet shop & began to browse. I selected a dog, but was informed by the pet shop owner “Oh you can’t buy that one. His fur is inconvenient & I have to clean him”. I moved on to another dog. Once again I was informed I couldn’t have the dog. This time Maggie said “Ohhhh nooo you don’t want that one. He was activated last night”.

I should also note, that when Maggie is the pet shop owner, she has a special voice she uses. I believe she thinks it’s an adult voice. It’s very deep & raspy. It’s also hard for me not to laugh when we are playing & she talks to me in the voice.

Haha! Sometimes I feel like my patients have been "activated." Smart girl! You may have a future vet on your hands. 🙂
