The Chirping Moms

Lion Handprint Craft for Kids

Lion Handprint Craft for Kids || The Chirping Moms
For Maggie’s “Simba Party” I wanted to make a fun lion craft for the kids to take home. I love anything made from tiny handprints & hoped other parents would too. We put a plastic table cloth down on the kitchen floor & had a few kids head in to paint at a time. I’m very thankful to have a few teachers in the family & they took charge of this project! I found thin canvas boards on sale at the craft store: 2 pack for $1 & used those. They came out really cute!
Supplies:
Yellow paint
Black marker
Strips cut from brown, orange & yellow paper
Glue
Paint brush
Cardstock or small canvas
Directions:
Ahead of time, cut out strips of colored paper & write each child’s name on the cardstock/ canvas. When the kids are ready for the project, paint one of their hands with the yellow paint & paint brush. Make their handprint in the center of the paper/canvas. Let them glue the strips on for a tail & mane. I used little bowls of glue & q-tips for the glueing. Then when the paint dries, draw on the lion face with black marker.
