A Yummy Summer Recipe for Kids: Maia Yogurt Pops

July 25, 2013

We survived last week’s heat wave! How many ice pops did your kids consume last week? We went through A LOT. After a while, the same old pops can get boring. When we were at the beach, my cousin made the girls (& I ate them too!) delicious ice pops with coconut water & fresh fruit. It got me thinking: what other fun ice pops could we make? My kids LOVE yogurt. A favorite in our house is Maia greek yogurt. It’s not high in sugar & the flavors are delicious. I used some of our Maia yogurt to make some ice pops & they were awesome. The first time, I made them in regular ice pop molds. The second time Maggie & I decided to get creative & tried making them into shapes. If you want quick & easy pops, use the molds & simply put your Maia yogurt into the molds. If you wants a little more of a “challenge”try this:

Supplies:

Maia Yogurt

Wax paper

Popsicle sticks

Cookie cutters

Directions: Place the wax paper on a plate. Put the popsicle sticks on the plate & place the cookie cutters on top of the sticks. Fill the cookie cutter with Maia. Place into the freezer. Once frozen, take out of the freezer. Let them melt just enough to get them out of the cookie cutters. Them might break a little bit. Put them back together if cracked & make sure the popsicle sticks haven’t fallen out. Place back into the freezer. After about 30 minutes, take out & enjoy!

This looks like such a delicious treat for a hot summer day. I like how they are a healthier alternative to ice pops. You are really creative with using the cookie cutters as molds.
Thank you for sharing and have a great weekend!!!
