How to Label Your School Supplies with Your Cricut

August 25, 2020

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Cricut. All opinions are 100% mine.

Can you believe it’s that time of year again?!

With all the kids heading back to school, I am sure that you are starting to think about how you can prepare for a seamless return. No doubt you have done all your back-to-school shopping, and now there are so many new things to pack and personalize this school year!

Never in my wildest imagination that 2020 and 2021 would have looked the way it did. Never would I have thought that I’d be shopping for and then personalizing face masks for my kids “back to school” lists.

Thankfully things are returning to normal for many of us, and masks are not required, but on the chance that your school still requires them or if you plan on continuing to wear them to keep those pesky sick germs out, I am going to share with you how to personalize your facemask.

How to DIY School Supplies Using Cricut

Here are my top 3 ways to use your Cricut Joy to personalize some of our 2020 back-to-school essentials.

  1. Mask Personalizing
  2. Mask or School Supplies Bag
  3. Stay Safe Kits

Mask Personalizing with Cricut

When several students have the same mask or identical bags and pencil boxes things are bound to get mixed up. Nobody has time or money to run out and replace things because your brand new supplies have gone MIA, so personalizing and labeling them is key.

Mask Bags

Another thing that can quickly make a mask-wearing not so clean is re-wearing the same one over and over again or wearing one that fell on the ground, etc.

Our schools have asked that the kids bring in spare masks and when I was getting a little bag to put them in, I realized there should also be a separate bag for the dirty ones.

Cricut had a face mask image in the library so I used that to design some fun “clean masks” and “dirty masks” bags for their backpacks.

If your school no longer requires masks, you can choose to make this a pencil bag or use it for extra scrunchies and socks. The sky’s the limit when it comes to this zipper pouch, just choose your favorite graphics and label it for what you want to keep inside. I have instructions for that below.

“Stay Safe” Kits

I also thought it would be good to have little “stay safe” bags. These can go in a backpack, to sports, the playground etc. Then each kid has one and you know there are extra safety essentials in them and you can just grab and go.

Also instead of rattling off all the things they should have when heading out the door (masks, gloves, sanitizer, wipes, etc), you can just say “did you grab a stay safe kit”. You can add what you see fit, but here is what’s in ours:

  • Gloves
  • Masks
  • Sanitizer

Mask or no mask you can never be too safe when it comes to kids sharing their sick germs with each other, so having a way for your kids to improve hygiene is a great way to keep everyone healthy.

What do you put in your wellness kit?

And for one last back to school bonus project while my Cricut was out… personalized pencil cases too!

You will love using your Cricut Joy for these projects. The machine is so versatile and easy to use. It’s small enough that it sits on your desk and connects to the bluetooth as well!. So whenever there’s a new school supply to personalize you will be ready to diy it yourself!

Other things you can personalize for back to school:

  • Backpack
  • Headbands
  • Clothing
  • Book Covers

Pin the projects for later!
