DIY Jewelry Organization

October 16, 2012

When I mentioned to my husband I was doing a week all about organization on the blog, he glanced over at our dresser. Maybe subconsciously or maybe hinting that while writing posts helping people get organized, maybe I should start with our dresser. The top of my dresser was a jewelry mound surrounded by a few small boxes with more jewelry. It was a mess, but I didn’t have anywhere else to put it. We don’t have a master bathroom, so keeping jewelry in the main bathroom with 2 kids who love throw things in the toilet = NOT a good idea. Anyway, Julie had an idea to make a jewelry organizer at our Pinterest Night last week & I am SO glad she did. We saw a few different versions on Pinterest & combined them into this.

It was easy to make. The supplies are inexpensive & you can hang it anywhere. I can now store all of my jewelry inside my closet door.

Supplies:

Wood picture frame: choose whatever size you want your organizer to be

Staple gun

Metal mesh: we used a roll of it that we found in the screen door section of Home Depot

Paint

3/4″ cup hooks

Drill

Directions:

Take the glass out of the frame & discard. Drill 4 holes at the bottom of the frame & twist in the hooks. Paint the frame. Cut a piece of mesh to fit behind the frame & staple it onto the frame. Enjoy!

Hi, I'm your newest follower. I found your blog through the Cornerstone Confessions link party. I just did my own jewelry organizer as well! I used an old picture frame I had sitting around. Doesn't it feel so rewarding getting all your jewelry untangled and organized?? I love it!
I hope you have time to come check out my blog as well!

Hi. Thanks for linking to Anything Goes At Eye Heart Monday's. I love the jewelry organizer with the mesh screen door material. I really need to make one as my necklaces just hang from a knob in the closet and it's suck a pain pulling them apart.
