Festive St. Patrick’s Day Rice Krispie Treats

February 23, 2021

Making festive rice krispie treats are my favorite holiday dessert because they are no bake…. therefore I can’t burn them or mess up the recipe! I’ve made rice krispie treat reindeer at Christmas and these rice krispie treat monsters are always a hit at Halloween. I thought about making shamrock shapes but felt like the shape might be tricky to cut. So I decided to melt some chocloate, dye it green and add a bunch of festive green and shamrock sprinkles. Here’s how I made St. Patrick’s Day Rice Krispie Treats:

St. Patrick’s Day Rice Krispie Treats

Ingredients:

  1. Rice Krispies
  2. Marshmallows
  3. Butter
  4. White Chocolate
  5. Green food dye
  6. Assortment of green sprinkles (and shamrock sprinkles if you can find them!)

Directions:

Follow the Rice Krispie treat directions on the box. Let them fully cool and then cut into rectangles. Melt the white chocolate in the microwave or a double boiler. I find in the microwave this works best: high for 60 seconds, stir and then another 15 seconds. Add in the green food dye. Start with just a few drops and add more depending on how “green” you’d like your chocolate. Dip the rice krispie treats into the chocolate about half way. Use a knife to help spread the chocolate so it looks nice. Place the treat down on the parchment paper or tray. Add your festive sprinkles. Last: enjoy the treats!
