Five Fast, Fun & Festive Halloween Activities

October 24, 2020

Halloween is a week away! Halloween may look a little different this year but there are still plenty of ways to celebrate close to home and to have some fun this week while you prepare. We’re also planning a small Halloween themed birthday party this week so I’ve been narrowing down easy snacks and activities for a safe outdoor party. I thought I’d share a few in a Friday Favorites post tonight. Here are 5 fast, fun and festive Halloween activities for kids.

5 Halloween Activities for Kids

1. Mummy Juice Boxes

Here’s a fun way to make your kid’s drink look a lot more festive. Juice Boxes + masking tape = mummies! I added google eyes. If you don’t have google eyes or if they are for little kids and you are afraid they’ll try and eat the eyes: go with Sharpie eyes instead. When I first thought of making these, I thought it would take a lot of tape and also “how would they get the straw off?” once I wrapped it in tape. The solution to both problems was to just put small pieces of tape (think about 3inches long) across the front. This Juicy Juice is easy and frightfully festive!

2. Toilet Paper Ghosts

Supplies:
Paper plate, black paper (or draw onto plate with black marker), glue & toilet paper

Directions:
Cut out 2 circles and 1 oval from the black paper. Glue them onto the paper plate to make the ghost face. You could also draw the ghost face on with black marker. Turn the plate over and glue long strips of toilet paper onto the back of the plate. Turn the plate back over & admire your spooky ghost!

3. Pumpkin Painting

Personally I think this is easier than carving pumpkins with little ones. Yes, it’s just as messy but no sharp objects are needed 🙂 You can use any size pumpkin but I grabbed a bunch of the little ones for painting. Any paint works and you can add glitter, sequins etc if you have them. For big kids, using Sharpies and making designs is a lot of fun too.

4. Back yard Trick or Treating

Lots of people are looking for Trick or Treating alternatives this year and I wanted to share what we are doing for Tommy’s birthday party. I am setting up “houses” in our yard: our playhouse, shed, swing set, teepee, etc. Each one will have a candy bucket and my older kids will be handing out candy dressed up. He’s only having a couple kids and they’ll all have a chance to “trick or treat” around our yard.

5. Vampire Bat Craft

We found this easy craft on the Juicy Juice site. Details here: Juicy Juice Vampire Bats

If you like the 2 festive juice box ideas, visit Juicy Juice’s site for so many more cute ideas. Juicy Juice has plenty of themed at-home recipes, activities, and crafts. (like DIY Monster Mash-up and seasonal snacks like Apple Cranberry Granola Bread made with 100% juice and juice boxes).

Enjoy these Halloween activities for kids!
