Friday Favorites: Adult Party Time (& giveaway)

September 7, 2012

After Labor Day, I am always ready to talk Fall & Halloween. After a few rainy days stuck in the house with the kids, I am always ready to talk parties (ones without kids). I will be throwing a birthday party for a friend next month & she loves everything fall & Halloween. Below are a few of my favorite ideas that I have seen & will be using for the party.

Be sure to check out the giveaway for one of our favorite party essentials at the bottom of the post.

Ready for some party planning?

Party Printables

I love printables for any type of party. Who says they are just for kids? I love this theme from Sour Punch Studio for an adult Halloween party.

I saw this on Martha Stewart.com & thought it would be great for a fall or Halloween party.

A spooky dessert option!

A Delicious Appetizer Recipe from Julie:

Stuffed Jalapenos

12 ounces cream cheese, softened

1 (8 ounce) package shredded Cheddar cheese

  • 2 tablespoon bacon bits
  • Jalapeños, seeded and halved
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 cup dry bread crumbs
  • About 2 quarts oil for frying

Directions

  1. In a medium bowl, mix the cream cheese, Cheddar cheese and bacon bits. Spoon this mixture into the jalapeno pepper halves.
  2. Put the milk and flour into two separate small bowls. Dip the stuffed jalapenos first into the milk then into the flour, making sure they are well coated with each. Allow the coated jalapenos to dry for about 10 minutes.
  3. Dip the jalapenos in milk again and roll them through the breadcrumbs. Allow them to dry, then repeat to ensure the entire surface of the jalapeno is coated.
  4. In a medium skillet, heat the oil to 365 degrees F ( 180 degrees C). Deep fry the coated jalapenos 2 to 3 minutes each, until golden brown. Remove and let drain on a paper towel.

Cookies from The Cookie Jar

The Cookie Jar made adorable cookies for Alex’s 1st birthday party. You’ll see some more pictures of these in her party wrap up post, but I wanted to snap a picture of them before the party. I have a feeling these are going to get eaten up fast on Saturday! They look adorable & delicious.

I had never thought of ordering cookies online, but this shop sure does it right. They came packages so well; not one cookie was broken & they are super fresh. I think fun cookies like these are great for all parties – adult parties included! I love these for a Halloween party.

The Cookie Jar is going to send a dozen cookies to one lucky winner. The winner can choose the design of their choice! Order some for a party or just to have a fun, beautiful & delicious dessert in the house!

Do we need a reason to have cookies?! I mean, really. LOL. But I'd probably do Thanksgiving cookies. I'm not hosting Thanksgiving dinner at my house, but I am thinking of hosting a late night dessert party at my house, so this would work beautifully!

If by party, you mean I'll order some fancy cookies and eat them at the end of any day ending in -y… then that would be it! 😉 I kid, I kid. My husband's thirtieth birthday is coming up in October and I'd love to order him cookies.. Beer steins? Cigar cookies? I'd love to satisfy his 30 year old sweet tooth 😉

My baby is due in October, I still haven't had my shower yet. This would be ideal to have blue cookies for my baby boy's arrival. I hope to win!
