The Chirping Moms

Friday Favorites: mimvail

January 11, 2013

mimivail is a new collection of high quality, timeless children’s dresses. There are quite a few reasons why mimivail has become a favorite brand in our house.

To start, the company’s slogan: “Every girl is worth celebrating”. As a mom of two girls, I always want them to know they are beautiful & worth celebrating each & every day. A clothing line that designs dresses with that in mind, is a beautiful thing.

Quality: These are the dresses that you’ll pass down amongst sisters & then package away in the attic & save forever. These are the dresses you’ll take out & show them on their wedding day. The dresses are made from high quality materials with wonderful details. Maggie’s favorite part about her dress is the felt covered buttons!

Charity: mimivail works hard to inspire hope for women in Uganda.

Each dress comes with a handcrafted bracelet designed by the women living in Jinja, Uganda. This initiative helps empower these women, and their children. Each season, Mimi Vail will have a new bracelet that will complement the collection. Maggie was so excited when she saw that her new dress “came with jewelry” & I am always thrilled to support a brand that supports those in need.

The Stories: Last but not least, I fell in love with the wonderful stories that accompany each style in the collection.

Going along with their celebration of little girls & the power of positive role models, the dresses are shown through 5 fictional personalities. The stories are fun to read & the accent is on clean, confident, boundless living and wholesome aspirations. The girls’ stories will continue & grow along with the brand. Reading Maggie the story, reminded me of days of my mom reading me stories about the Ingalls girls & some of the first American Girl books.

The story that goes along with Maggie’s dress truly reminds me of Maggie & her love of animals:

Navy Twill for Emi

Say hi to Emi,

Our warm friendly six year old who lives with her parents & younger sister in Tokyo. A huge animal lover, Emi recently found an injured baby bird & tried to nurse it back to health. Her mother thinks she’ll be a veterinarian one day. When Emi turned six, she had her birthday party at the Ueno Zoo. She wore her favorite cotton twill dress. It was comfortable, light weight & so easy to run around in.

I can’t wait to read Maggie the next part of Emi’s story when the Spring line launches.

Be sure to visit mimivail to read the stories that go along with all of the other beautiful dresses & to shop of course!  Also, keep an eye out for mimivail on RealSimple.com  for a special kids Valentine’s Day story featuring the Isabelle dress.

Keep celebrating our sweet little girls.

I was not compensated for this post, however I did receive product for review from mimivail. As always, all opinions are my own.
