Fun Pom Pom Christmas Crafts for Kids

December 20, 2016

Pom Pom Easy Christmas Crafts

Many kids are out of school this week and it’s hard to contain everyone’s excitement about Christmas! If you need a few easy, festive crafts to do with the kids, we have 4 you can make with pom poms. These crafts make great gifts and decor. I made these crafts with my 5 year old and my two year old. These crafts are great for toddlers, preschoolers and school aged children. Just modify how much you have to assist them.

1. Pom Pom Candy Canes

Supplies: red or white paper (cardstock preferred), red and white pom poms, glue

Directions: Cut out a candy cane shape from the paper/cardstock. Give the child 1 bowl of glue and one bowl of pom poms. Let them dip the pom pom into the glue and stick them onto the candy cane shape, alternating colors.

2. Christmas Lights: Painting With Pom Poms

Supplies: White paper or cardstock, black marker, pom poms, paint, clothespins

Directions: Draw a line with the black marker across the paper. Make little black squares about every 2 inches or so (where you want the lights). Clip the pom poms with the clothespins, Put the paint on something easy for the kids to dip the pom poms in. I used a paper plate. Holding the clothespin, dip the pom pom into paint and then onto the paper at each black square.

3. Pom Pom Ornaments

Supplies: Clear round Christmas ornaments and different size small pom poms.

Directions: I took off the top of the ornaments and gave the kids an ornament and a bowl of pom poms. They got to work filling them and then I added the tops back on. They came out so pretty!

4. Pom Pom Christmas Tress

Supplies: Green paper or cardstock, glue, pom poms. For this, we like the “spikey” looking pom poms!

Directions: Cut out a Christmas tree shape from the paper. If the children are older, let them cut out the tree. Glue the pom poms on the tree as ornaments.
