We’ve shared many sibling and family halloween costumes over the years but I don’t think we’ve ever included the dog! We love our pup and she’s a pretty patient dog when it comes to getting dressed up (she’s attended many fancy tea parties in the playroom over the years). A few times, Maggie has taken our dog Jersey trick or treating and dresses her up. One year Maggie dressed as a monkey and she dressed Jersey as a banana. This year we were browsing the costumes in the Chasing Fireflies catalog and my kids couldn’t get over how fun the pet costumes were. The boys thought Jersey would make a “really good police officer” and then I thought “and I have an idea on what the kids could be!”. So here’s our first family Halloween costume idea with the dog: A Cop and Robbers

Family Halloween Costume with the Dog: Police Officer and Burglars

Supplies: The dog costume is this costume from Chasing Fireflies. The kids costumes are super simple: striped shirts, pants and solid winter hats (we found all of these on Primary.com). The masks were from a craft set we had leftover from a birthday party but you can find them at most party stores or craft stores. This photo cracks me up especially because there are many days that we say “the dog if the most behaved!”. You could easily add the parents to this family costume too. It’s easy, comfortable and even the dog seems to like her Halloween costume!
