Just For Love Campaign & Tips For Maternity Style

June 4, 2014

I’m enjoying my time shopping for maternity clothes this pregnancy. This is my “third time around” and I feel like I finally know what items I need, and understand I can embrace my personal style even though my body is growing and changing daily. One brand that’s new to me this time around is Séraphine.  The brand started in the UK and is quickly becoming popular here in the US too. Their site has an great assortment of styles. In addition to enjoying the maternity styles offered by Séraphine, I was really impressed to find out what they are doing to help babies in need.

Launched on Mother’s Day, the company is working on a campaign called Just for Love, to support Baby2Baby, an organization that provides low-income children with diapers, clothing and all the basic necessities that every child deserves. Supported by a board of influential women, including celebrity moms Jessica Alba and Nicole Richie, Baby2Baby will serve over 70,000 children this year by collecting and distributing donations of new and gently used children’s essentials.

It’s SO easy to help! Séraphine has developed an application on their website (www.seraphine.com) to work just like an Instagram feed, inviting people to post an image that represents their own personal moment of love. Whether it’s a picture of your baby bump, your child, a hug with your mother or your partner … it can be anything truly meaningful and symbolic of a loving moment.

For every image uploaded to the site, Séraphine will donate $1 to Baby2Baby. It’s that simple.

You can upload your moment of love at:

Now for some maternity shopping tips!

I wasn’t a great maternity clothes shopper the 1st two pregnancies. This time around, when it comes to maternity style, I’d like to say “third time’s a charm”. These are three things I’ve learned about shopping for maternity clothes:

1.) Stick with your personal style: With my first, I bought maternity clothes at the first store I found that sold them. They were not my typical style at all, but I was a novice and just assumed that what I had found was “what maternity clothes looked like”. My advice: take your time; browse websites and stores. There are so many maternity options out there. You don’t have to change your style just because you are pregnant.

2.) Don’t shop for maternity clothes the first time around thinking you’ll wear them for every pregnancy. When I was first pregnant, I knew I wanted to have a few children, and someone told me to buy maternity clothes I knew I’d wear again. This hasn’t worked out so well, considering my 1st was born in February. All of my maternity clothes from that pregnancy are wool sweaters, long pants and long sleeve wrap dresses. My 2nd two pregnancies have been mainly through summer months. It was hot and humid this weekend, and the last thing I wanted to wear was a long wool sweater! Plus, I was pregnant for the 1st time 5 years ago. Styles change and it’s great to buy some new items to feel stylish with each new pregnancy.

3.) Be sure to get items for different style needs. When I’m not pregnant, I have clothes for sleep, lounging around playing with the kids, working out, casual clothes, outfits for nights out, dresses, etc. Keep in mind, just because you’re pregnant, your daily schedule won’t change too much. You’ll still need clothes for all aspects of life. I love the outfits I’ve found from Seraphine: a dress for a date night, casual clothes to hang with the kids, and my new navy “go to” summer party dress.

Don’t forget to upload your pictures to help Seraphine donate to Baby2Baby.  I just uploaded 2 images. Visit the site and see if you can find us! You can also support by ordering one of these #JustForLove shirts (ALL proceeds benefit the organization). Can you believe how fast baby #3 is growing?
Join the campaign and upload your moment of love at:

All maternity clothes shown in post at from Seraphine Maternity. I was not compensated for this post. I did receive items for the purpose of review. As always, all opinions are my own.
