8 months is a wonderful age! There are so many fun baby milestones around this age. Miles can sit on his own and loves to play with toys. He’s not crawling yet, so he’s the only kid in the house that stays in one place. He’s just starting to lean on his hands from sitting, like he’s trying to figure out crawling. So, I am sure were are getting close to another kiddo on the move. 8 months has seemed to be when all of my kids started becoming good nappers and Miles is following suite. He can go for longer stretches at nap time and also is more consistent with when he will nap.
My favorite milestone of the month: Miles can wave! It’s the sweetest little wave and he gets so excited when he does it.
Miles had another big milestone this month: his first flight! He was an easy baby to fly with and slept most of the time in my lap.
The flight was to Disney World (another first for Miles). He was a joy on the trip! He absolutely loved the pool and splashing around. In the park, he hung out in the Babybjorn and just looked around at all the sights. He even got to go on the Little Mermaid Ride & the Safari. When we were in Animal Kingdom, he was chosen to “ring the bell” and open the Harambe Market. He got a little certificate and all.
Miles is an eating machine this month. He eats everything from baby food to spaghetti and meatballs. He eats whatever is on his tray and then tries as hard as he can to reach over to his brother’s tray to steal his food too. He’s still nursing but likes bottles too. Starting this month, he can give himself a bottle on his own. Another milestone this month is that Miles can sit on his own, comfortably in a restaurant high chair. This was great on vacation. He also sat in a Target shopping cart for the first time. He’s getting stronger by the day.
Miles went apple picking and pumpkin picking for the first time this month. October is a fun month – his first Halloween is days away!
A few things we are loving this month for Miles:
Teething Necklace: At school pickup, I noticed a friend’s baby was totally into her moms teething necklace. It was right before we were going on our flight to Disney and it looked like the perfect airplane accessory. My friend told me she got it on Amazon and I went right home and ordered one. Miles loves it!
See Me Sensory Ball: Now that Miles loves sitting up an playing with toys, he hangs out in the playroom a lot and loves checking out his big brother and sisters toy (with supervision). He loves when I roll a ball to him and he loves it even more if one of his siblings does. He tries to roll it back. Except we realized that once he gets his hands on the Sensory Ball, he doesn’t want to give it back. He lifts it, pats on it, tries to eat it and even hugs it. It’s actually a great size and shape for this age. I am not sure where/ when we got it but they have them on Amazon.
Lily Jade: With more eating, bottles, change of season (packing payers), etc, I feel like I am packing more for Miles than usual when we are out and about. The Lily Jade diaper bag has been so key for organizing this month plus looks great with moms fall fashion. For more details on the bags/why I like them, check out this post from last week.
Bella Bliss: Always my favorite baby clothes: super soft and so sweet (bag & our favorite Bella Bliss onesie pictured below).
