The Chirping Moms

Prepping for Holiday Photos { & Free Printable Signs }

November 20, 2015

It’s that time of year again: time to take holiday photos! I’ve found, the older the kids get and the more kids I have, the task gets a little more daunting. It usually takes a few tries and each time I end up rather flustered and in a full sweat. Like this year: 12 month old babies do not stay still. But it’s funny, when I look back at all the “outtakes” from years past, and all the photos I thought were much to far from perfect to use for a card, I realize how grateful I am that it took so many tries. The kids look so much older in just a year, and those “less than perfect” are actually a perfect capture of how much smaller they were just 12 months ago.

So, I’m sure this year I’ll try multiple times to capture a holiday photo where are 3 are miraculously looking at the camera and maybe even smiling, but at least I know I’ll end up with hundreds of pictures of my little ones that I’ll cherish in years to come.

Also, I realized last year, that even though some photos weren’t what I was aiming for in a holiday card, they turned out to be the perfect photo for a family members photo gift or to frame in the house.

So to accompany your holiday photos this year, we’re sharing a few FREE printable signs. They make a cute prop for photos, and if you give the sign to the “kid most likely to wrestle the others to the ground” you might actually get a good photo! These are also great to frame and use as holiday decor.

Happy New Year Sign

When we were planning outfits for holiday photos this year, I stumbled upon some of the new styles from Tea Collection. Tea is typically my go-to for play dresses but I loved some of their dressier styles this year. Alex likes everything to be pink, so I knew she’s be a lot happier to take holiday photos when she saw this pretty pink dress. Maggie loves blue and purple, and this dress looks like a combo of those colors.

Then it was onto Tommy’s first “formal” holiday outfit! Last year he was teeny and just wore Christmas pajamas in all photos. This year he’s looking pretty dapper in his Tea Collection pants, dress shirt and sweater!

Julie’s crew is looking holiday ready in their Tea Collection outfits too. Tea has great holiday styles for girls, boys and babies. I like that they look nice for holiday photos and parties, but like all Tea Collection clothes, they are extra comfortable for the kids to still be kids.

Tea Collection is going to have some amazing deals next week for Black Friday. If you’re still looking for some cute outfits for Thanksgiving, you can upgrade to expedited shipping for free on orders over $75 with the code: FEAST (through 11/22). Stay tuned for more Tea Collection deals next week.

Enjoy taking those holiday photos!
