Simple Ways to Host Brunch

March 12, 2016

When people ask to stop by to meet our new baby, I always invite them in the morning. First thing in the morning our family seems to be in their best moods and since the only time I have to straighten up the house is when they’re all in bed at night, the house tends to look it’s best in the morning. In our house, as the day goes on, the mess and the meltdowns start to add up fast. Plus, breakfast foods are my favorite to serve because there are a lot of fast and fun options.

One thing I do is keep some of my favorite fast breakfast options in the freezer. Then, even if we decide to have guests for brunch the night before, we’re ready to go. I recently discovered that I can get scones from my favorite brunch spot in New York City from our grocery delivery service. This was a huge win because when defrosted they taste just like they do at the restaurant.

A few other things we keep in the freezer: NYC bagels, mini quiche and pancakes. Someone once asked me at a party “how do you get all your pancakes perfectly round?” I replied “I take them out of a box from the freezer section of the grocery store and put them in the oven!”

We always have fruit in the refrigerator, so even last minute I can usually put together a nice fruit salad to serve.  Now for the drinks….

Another reason why I enjoy hosting brunch is I always have a lot of coffee and tea on hand. I love drinking tea and keep a variety of flavors in our pantry. When guests come, I can boil water and have an assortment of teas for them to try. That plus some coffee pods for the coffee drinkers and we’re all set.

Lipton has a line of new black and herbal teas. Plus, they’ve improved their green teas. The flavors are great and perfect for a brunch party. A few of the flavors we’re loving in our house right now are the Enticing Chai, Pure Green, Orange Passionfruit Jasmine and Peach Mango.

I like the variety and unique flavors for entertaining guests. My personal favorite are the new Lipton Black Teas. Their bold aroma and unique flavor  help put a little twist on traditional black tea. You can check out more about the Lipton Green, Black and Herbal tea flavors here.

Also, right now you can use a coupon to receive $0.75 off any 1 Lipton Black, Green, or Herbal 20ct tea. Just click here to print one!

We recently enjoyed brunch with friends who came over to meet our newest addition. We had plenty to eat, plenty of tea to drink and lots of time for sweet baby snuggles.

So my tips for the simplest party to plan: pick a time that works, have food on hand and a variety of drinks to serve. Those things plus great company will equal a fun time for everyone.
