Happy 1st day of Spring! Here’s an easy craft for kids that will get your house looking like Spring in no time. For this Spring chick sponge painting craft, you need very few supplies and my kids all enjoyed it (ages 3-9). Bigger kids can do it all on their own. For little ones: I let them do the sponge painting all on their own and then I added the eyes, beak & legs.
Spring Chick Sponge Painting Craft
- paper or canvas
- yellow paint
- sponge (I cut up a new dish sponge into 4 for them to share)
- google eyes
- orange paper
- scissors & glue
Have the child make a yellow circle on the paper/canvas using the sponge. It can be pretty messy as it will look more like a fluffy baby chick that way. Once it dries, add on the legs and beak by cutting those shapes out of the orange paper. Glue them on and glue on the google eyes.
