Stay #CoolerinCotton This Summer

July 7, 2016

Summer is in full swing. We love long, hot summer days. With the kids out of school, we’re not stuck to a schedule and places to be. We can enjoy the days as we please – out in the yard, trips to the pool and tons of fun day trips. The only thing that can sometimes be a drag on long, hot summer days is that they can be a bit too long and hot to stay cool and comfortable.

This is why choosing the right clothes for the summer is key. This summer we’re trying to stay #CoolerinCotton when picking out clothes for the family. Cotton is the most breathable, scent repellent fabric there is. With cotton, you feel good and a lot cooler in the summer. It’s also durable which is important if your kids get as dirty as mine in the summer!

This #CoolerInCotton video gives more info on why to wear cotton in the summer and is also super entertaining (you’ll laugh!):

There can be a lot of unpleasant traits and feelings that come with the hot, humid weather in the summer. The music video talks about this and how it can be avoided by simply wearing cotton. It’s entertaining while showing how easily cotton eliminates all of those awkward feelings and situations,  letting you be carefree this summer.

I’m choosing more cotton for my family this summer so we can stay #CoolerinCotton.  I want the kids to stay cool and comfortable while they run around and play. It’s so important for babies to stay cool in the summer and I find a cool, comfortable baby is always less fussy. So, cotton onesies for the win! For me, I am always holding at least one baby, which can make staying cool in the summer pretty tough. Comfortable cotton clothes are key for me.

Here are the top 5 reasons I choose cotton:

1. Cotton is a natural fiber

2. Cotton breathes and keeps you feeling cool throughout the day

3. Cotton doesn’t retain odors

4. Cotton is versatile and can be worn in all aspects of life and for all ages. From our little infant up to the adults in our family, we can all wear cotton.

5. The benefits of cotton CAN be found by wearing certain cotton blends too. Just look for cotton-rich fabrics (60% cotton or higher for all apparel, 90% or higher for denim)

What are your favorite cotton looks for summer?
