3 Fun Father’s Day Crafts To Make At Home

Can you believe that it’s almost Memorial Day? The spring flew by!

It’s time to start thinking about Father’s Day. We just made 3 fun Fathers Day crafts for our Dad & I’m excited to share them with you.

Making crafts at home for Fathers Day is such a fun way to make memories with the kids and the keepsake is something Dad will treasure also!   Don’t forget to snap some “behind the scenes” pictures to add along with the gift!

Trust me, down the road you’ll be so happy you did!

Fun Father's Day Craft Ideas- Making Paper Father's Day Tie

The girls had a lot of fun with these crafts and they were easy to make.  Since we just had Mother’s Day, I explained to Maggie that next month we have a day all about Daddy! She said she “can’t wait to make him breakfast” since that was her favorite part of Mother’s Day.

1. Make Dad A Tie

My husband & I always talk about how there will come a time when the girls pick out a tie for him for his birthday, Christmas, Father’s Day etc., and no matter how wild & crazy it is, he’ll have to wear it.

I thought this year it would be funny to have the girls make him ties. They had a blast making these and they are so easy to do!

Supplies:

  • Construction paper
  • Hole punch
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Yarn or ribbon
  • Stickers, glitter, pom poms or anything else fun to decorate with

Directions:

Cut out a tie shape from the construction paper. I am terrible at cutting so I “google imaged” tie outline & printed it for something to trace. Then punch 2 holes at the top of the tie. Use the glue & decorations to decorate your tie. Then lace ribbon/yarn through the tie & tie it.

2. #1 Dad Trophy

This one is the hardest, most time consuming of the 3 crafts. That being said though, it still turned out cute!  The painted pasta looks like pieces of metal on the trophy.

Supplies:

  • Solo Cup
  • Pipe cleaners
  • Gold or Silver Paint
  • Paint brush
  • Pasta
  • Glue
  • Small piece of paper to write “#1 Dad”

Directions:

First paint the cup & let it dry. Paint the pasta & let it dry. Bend pipe cleaners to look like handles & glue to cup. Glue the pasta around the cup. Glue on little sign that says “#1 Dad”. Give Dad his trophy!

3. Why I Love Dad

Supplies:

  • Construction paper in various colors
  • Heart hole punch or scissors
  • Glue stick
  • Pen or marker

Directions:

Use the heart hole punch or scissors to make a bunch of hearts in different colors. Then ask your little one to list things they love about their Dad. Write something different on each heart. Let your little one glue the hearts all over a piece of construction paper. This could be a great card too!

Making Memories with Fathers Day Crafts

The great thing about these crafts is that even if they come out a little messy or not quite like you pictured- it’s still 100% perfection!

I love making these types of crafts because they serve as great, heartfelt gifts and the kids have a sense of pride for what they were able to create.

Do you have memories of making your parents crafts as kids? Let me know in the comments!

The last idea is super cute. I think I will see if W can draw his reasons for loving Daddy.
