Handprint and Fingerprint Crafts for Your Thanksgiving Table

November 16, 2022

I love adding something personal to our Thanksgiving table. I also love anything handprint or fingerprint at the holidays as it becomes a keepsake that you’ll take out over the years and see how the kids have grown. This year we are making Thanksgiving fingerprint place cards that a also double as napkin rings! I’m also using the sweet little turkey handprint craft as a centerpiece.

Today I’m sharing these two special Thanksgiving crafts along with some favorite Thanksgiving outfits for kids that you can wear through the holidays and holiday parties in December too.

Thanksgiving Handprint Centerpiece

I first made a turkey handprint craft with Maggie and Alex when they were just babies and toddlers and now their hands couldn’t even fit on the small canvas. This year I made one with Teddy that I’ll lean against a case of flowers as our Thanksgiving table centerpiece. I usually use a small canvas for their handprint crafts but this year I used a small rectangle wood board I grabbed at the craft store to make the place card/ napkin rings (below).

I think because they do handprint and footprint crafts at his preschool, Teddy now thinks they are so fun to do at home with me. He gets such a kick out of it. One tip I have for handprint crafts with little ones: make a few while the paint is on their hands because chances are the 1st attempt won’t come out exactly how you planned!

Doing the craft on a piece of wood is a good way to make sure it lasts for years to come. This will become a special Thanksgiving keepsake!

Thanksgiving Fingerprint Place Cards

Since their hands are getting big for handprint crafts I’ve moved along to fingerprint crafts for the bigger kids. They’re fun for them to make, also sweet and personal. You can make these on cardstock and use as place cards only or tie them around your napkins and they double as place cards and napkin rings. They’ll look so pretty on your Thanksgiving table and be something special your guests can take home with them.

I found these little wood tags at the craft store. We used thumbprints for the turkey’s body and finger prints for the feathers. Then we used a little piece of orange paper for the beak and teeny google eyes. We drew on the turkey’s legs with a colored pencil. I used navy twine to tie them onto the napkins.

Thanksgiving Outfits for Siblings

You know I love coordinating sibling outfits for the holidays. For Thanksgiving I like to find something that we can also use throughout December for parties, Christmas, NYE etc. There are five of them to outfit now so I have to think re-wearing!

The Beaufort Bonnet Company has been a holiday go to for me for 10 years now. They have wonderful options for coordinating siblings and I can find something for all of their sizes – 2 to 12 now.

When I pick coordinating outfits I usually start with a favorite item and build from that. I spotted the Betts Bow Dress and loved it (and thankfully my daughter did too) and then from there continued finding pieces that matched for the rest of the crew. Here’s what I coordinated for sibling Thanksgiving outfits:

White Bow Sweater // Navy Corduroy Pleated Skirt // Bow Back Dress // Black Watch Pants // Black Watch Shorts // Peter Pan Onesie // Plaid Button Down Shirt // Navy Dog Sweater // Khaki Pants

Be sure to order soon so they arrive in time for Thanksgiving dinner! These outfits would be so cute to wear for Santa photos, school holiday concerts, etc.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
