It’s a little over a week to Thanksgiving and we are getting so excited to see family and have our big Thanksgiving feast. My kids have made some adorable Thanksgiving crafts at preschool this year and I love seeing them all hanging in the hallway at drop off. Today I’m sharing a few Thanksgiving activities for kids that we’ve put together at home this season. We have a handprint (we love holiday handprints!), a funny turkey hat and even something for your Thanksgiving dinner: turkey juice boxes. Enjoy!

Thanksgiving Activities for Kids

Turkey Handprint Craft

Supplies:

  • White paper or cardstock
  • Brown, yellow, red, blue, green paint
  • Paint brush (we like sponge brushes)
  • Orange and red markers
  • Small google eye

Directions: Use the paint brush to paint the child’s palm and thumb brown. Use the other colors to paint their remaining fingers. Make the handprint. Once dry, glue on the eye and draw on the beak and snood.

Silly Thanksgiving Turkey Hat Activity

Supplies:

  • Brown, yellow, blue, green and red paper
  • Large google eyes (or draw your own)
  • scissors
  • Glue or tape
  • Stapler

Directions: Cut 2 strips of brown paper and staple them together to make a crown shape for the child’s head. Cut a large circle (I traced a cereal bowl) for the turkey’s head. On the head glue the eyes, beak and snood (cut those from the orange and red paper). If you want a beak that opens, cut the triangle on the fold. Glue the head to the crown.

Cut out 2 strips of red paper and fold them like an accordian for the “bouncy legs”. Staple those onto the crown. Last cut out some feathers from the colored paper. Make tiny cuts along the outside of the feather to make it more “feathery” and glue those to the crown too.

Turkey Juice Boxes

Supplies:

  • Juice Pouch
  • Feathers
  • Brown & Yellow Construction Paper
  • Google Eyes
  • Glue or Tape
  • Scissors

Directions:

Wrap the juice pouch with brown construction paper. Tape or glue into place
Add google eyes & a beak. Glue feathers on the back of the pouch.
This is a super easy way to add a fun and festive touch to the kids’ Thanksgiving place setting. You could also personalize with the kids’ names or let the kids assemble while the turkey is in the oven. This would also be fun for a Thanksgiving class party at school.

We used Juicy Juice Fruitfuls Organic. They are my kids new favorite and even I really enjoy a class of the grape! We used the juice boxes for this craft but Juicy Juice Fruitfuls Organic also comes in a larger multi-serve bottle which is great to quickly hydrate a Thanksgiving Kids table.

Juicy Juice has some cute Thanksgiving activities for kids on their site too. We love this Turkey Cone Craft and these cute Thanksgiving Owls.

Hope you have a very happy Thanksgiving!
