It’s Time for Easter Prep

March 27, 2023

Today I’m sharing ideas for prepping your Easter table, cute inexpensive Easter baskets, basket stuffers, Easter outfits and more. I know in the world of blogs and social media, I should be posting about holidays months in advance but I just can’t do it. I have to get through one holiday at a time and for us… Easter prep happens after all three of our winter birthdays and St. Patrick’s Day. So we have three weeks to prep and I’m here to help. Who’s ready to prep?

Let’s start with the baskets…

I have 5 baskets to create and it seems like every year we are somewhere different. So we don’t have special baskets they’ve had forever. If we are home, I like to put together Easter baskets that they can re-use in their rooms. If we are traveling I like to do Easter “bags” because then they can use them on the trip and to bring their treats home with us. The bag idea is what I am going with this year (I think) because we are leaving on a trip the day after Easter. My home is they can just bring the bag along with them. They can keep their treats in it and add whatever else they may want to play or read in the car.

So with 5 baskets or bags to buy, I hunt for the cheapest option. There are loads of adorable baskets out there but these are all options I found for $15 or less.

Now what to add to those baskets? Over the years I’ve added so many different things to Easter baskets. If we are traveling, my favorite thing to do is find things that are souvenirs from where we are – postcards, a t-shirt, a book about where we are and then candy or snacks. This year everyone needs a new sports water bottle so I’m starting with that and adding some sports related items and candy.

Setting the Easter Table (for less)

I love all of the pretty colors at Easter and it’s one of my favorite times to host. I have seen so many cute options this year but didn’t want to spend a lot. I took too color schemes and then searched for ways to make the tablescape for a lot less. Here are my two options and all of the items for both are under $20 and most items are under $10. I also tried to pick items that could be reused for summer entertaining too. Do you host brunch or dinner on Easter?

Easter Outfits for Kids:

Easter outfits are my favorite holiday outfits for kids. I’m sure you would have guessed Christmas or 4th of July due to my obsession with plaid and all things red, white and blue… but it’s Easter. You can easily coordinate without overly matching because of all the pretty Easter colors and you can always use the clothes a ton all Spring and Summer. This year’s outfits are Nantucket Kids.

Easter Dresses for Mom:

I was on the hunt for a new dress for Easter this year. I wanted to make sure it was something I would wear a lot though. With Spring and Summer coming here are some fun dress options (that won’t break the bank).
