10 Fun Snowman Crafts & Activities

January 10, 2023

January means lots of time indoors and lots of talk of waiting for snow. When we craft in January it’s usually snow and snowmen. Since we are indoors more there’s more time to craft and more of a need for indoor activities. Hopefully these 10 snowman crafts and activities help entertain your little ones during the cold month of January.

A few of the crafts linked have snowman book ideas that go along with the activity. We love winter themed books. We spend the weeks leading up to Christmas reading so many holiday books and have lots of Valentine’s Day books in February. So January is a break from holiday books and just winter themed.

Snowman Crafts and Activities for Kids

1. Snowman Cotton Ball Wreath

2. Snowman Fingerprint Paper Snow Globe

3. Snowman Calm Down Jar

4. Marshmallow Snowman

5. Egg Carton Snowman

6. Build a Snowman Art

7. Potato Stamping Snowman

8. Snowman in a Bag

9. Build Your Name Snowman Craft

10. Finger Print Snowmen

These are all crafts I have done with my kids when they were in preschool and/or Kindergarten. They’re great for class parties too. We have a winter party in class each December and these are really cute crafts for kids to bring home.

The “snowman in a bag” if one of my kids favorites and something you can make in just a few minutes. The best part about trying a few of these activities is you need similar supplies: buy a pack of black and orange construction paper and you are set to make lots of snowman crafts!

I have been trying to add videos of many of these activities over on Reels and TikTok. So if you like a visual “how to” be sure to check those out when you’re ready to craft.
