Adventure Checklist Printable for Kids

April 19, 2022

I recently created this fun Free Printable Adventure Checklist for Kids. I’ve been traveling with kids for the better part of a decade but this past year has been different. I am traveling with a couple “big kids” and it’s really cool. The boys are still very much “little kids” but the girls can read, write and have all kinds of opinions and input into our trips. I can remember trips I went on when I was my girls ages and I know that we are at a point  where they will remember a lot of the adventures we go on. They are also at an age where I want them to learn from some of the things we do on trips, ask questions and meet people.

So before Spring Break this year, I made this printable Adventure Checklist and brought a bunch of them. When we were driving home I can them to the girls as something to do in the car. When they were reading their answers aloud and asking their little brothers some of the questions, it made me so happy. These sheets will now be in my bag for both small and big adventures. It’s really beat to see what they write and take away from activities and travel. They’re also something to hold onto over the years. Tip: these are great to bring along on vacation and give to the kids while waiting for food at a restaurant. You can do them daily on vacation or just at the end of the trip.

I added in a spot about “someone new I met” because I think it’s an important part about travel and adventure that gets lost a bit these days with phones and social media. Remember when your only entertainment on a train or plane was talking to the person next to you? I recently found my travel journal from when I studied abroad. It was packed with pages about people I met from people on the plane to people that helped me when I got lost.

Free Printable Adventure Checklist for Kids

I designed this to be a “checklist” because it’s also something you can give kids at the beginning of a day trip or a vacation as things you want them to “check off” throughout the trip. Click here to download and print the Adventure Checklist!

Now a for few travel favorites that I pack for our adventures!

I love Mini Boden’s clothes for our adventures because they are so comfortable for kids and their cute, fun patterns and appliqués are very fitting for our adventure themes: animals, pirates, mermaids, etc. They look nice for travel and when we go out to dinner but are comfortable and fun styles the kids actually want to wear. There are a few Mini Boden items I get every year for our travels:

1. Toweling coverups:

These last us a couple years – long the first year and a little shorter the next few. These are a summer staple for us!

2. Swim:

When people ask me what my favorite swimsuits are for kids, I always answer Mini Boden. They are colorful, comfortable and hold us SO well. For girls, I like the fit and also that they have so many options for girls rash guards. Mini Boden also always has the best mix and match patterns and colors in their swim collection for kids. This is my favorite style for girls (click here).

Packaway Coat:

This coat is awesome for travel. It comes in a site little zipped up back pack and folds into a high quality jacket. It easily folds back and forth, which isn’t always the case with these things! Also, when it’s on as a jacket, the zipper pouch on the back is like a mini backpack attached to the jacket. My kids stored the zoo map, money for the gift shop and a few sticks and leaves they collected in it. The one the girls are wearing is currently 30% off

4. Socks/Underwear:

Mini Boden’s socks/underwear are super soft and high quality like the rest of their clothes but our favorite because the socks mix and match (in my opinion) and we love the bag that the underwear comes in. It’s perfect to use for packing when traveling and also once you get there. My kids used this bag to collect sea shells on spring break. Getting this soft (rather large) bag is a great bonus!

5. Sunglasses and Hats:

My kids all like sunglasses on the beach and the girls like straw hats. Mini Boden has really cute options plush their kids sunglasses come in a cushioned sunglass case with a cloth to clean them attached (so it doesn’t get lost).

Boden Styles for Mom

Did you know Boden has awesome styles for moms too? Lately Boden has been my favorite for travel for myself too. Here are a few items in my suitcase this season:

Toggle coat // Gingham Shoes (I got the hot pink!!) // My Favorite Jeans // Coverups // This is the Only Swimsuit I Wear – I have it in a few patterns now

This spring break Maggie picked a top from Mini Boden that happened to be the same one I picked for myself. A little vacation twinning!
